With no other round of Champions League and Europa League fixtures coming up, there are quite a few teams in the Bundesliga that may be looking beyond this weekend’s round of games. That’s a dangerous proposition as the Bundesliga has developed into a very competitive league over the last few years.
Not “which team will win” of course, more to do with who gets the second spot and other European qualifying spots.
For a time it looked like Borussia Dortmund might break the monopoly set in place by Bayern Munich and challenge for the title this season. They started out extremely well under their new manager but injuries took their toll and they’ve petered out in recent weeks. They need to get back to winning ways and an away game against VfB Stuttgart gives them a real opportunity. The odds are quite low but I’m still relatively happy to back a Dortmund win at 1.67 with Pinnacle.
Mainz v Köln is one of 5 games kicking off at the same time on Saturday. I’ve made money backing both of these sides over the course of the season but I’ve got nothing in this one. Personally, I expect the home team to win out but I’m not backing that with money.
Bayern Munich v Augsburg is another one of those 5 and there’s just no value here. Bayern have put together the kind of run title-winning teams need, Augsburg are solidly mid-table. Nothing here, move on.
Wolfsburg v Freiburg does have some interest for me though. Wolfsburg have a solid record in this matchup and even at odds as low as 1.68 (Pinnacle) there is still enough value to get me involved here. Neither side has won in the last four matches though but the fact Freiburg have lost their last two helps us, a bit.
It’s difficult to find a bet for every game and I’m all about finding the value in my selections so it may not be a surprise to find I have nothing for the two remaining games that kick off at 14.30. Bayer Leverkusen v RB Leipzig is probably the most interesting game of the two (and maybe of the day), that doesn’t mean I have to bet on it though.
Saturday’s evening game is between Hertha Berlin and Borussia Monchengladbach. I like the away teams chances in this one and at odds of 2.45 with BetVictor, the odds are quite nice as well. I always enjoy watching Monchengladbach so this one has an added bonus attached.
I’ve got nothing for Sundays games though I’m sure I’d be backing Schalke if the odds were to creep up. As it is I’m happy with the 3 bets I have and will be hoping I still feel that way on Monday.
