Champions League Group Stage Value Bets Tuesday

This last round of group stage matches is often a tricky one to profit from.  Most of the qualifying spots have already been decided, some groups have no doubt whatsoever about which team will be top and which will be qualifying in second place and it all comes down to “who gets that Europa League spot”.  Let’s go through the groups and matches and see what we can find.
The first game to look at from Group A is Manchester United v CSKA Moscow.  United have already qualified and can top the group with just a single point.  With top spot in the group up for grabs and this being a home game for the Red Devils, I can’t see past them getting all 3 points here.  The odds are far too low to go for anything in the Match Odds market but with CSKA having an outside chance of qualifying (with a win and Basel dropping points) I think there will be some motivation to attack.  I like Both Teams To Score (BTTS) Yes at evens with Ladbrokes (among others).

Benfica v Basel is a much more open game and this could be the one that decides which team goes through in second place.  The pressure is on Basel and I can see them dropping the ball here.  I’m looking at the draw for my football betting (3.58 with Pinnacle) but it’s no bet from me.
Group B is far less interesting.  Celtic and Anderlecht are battling it out for the third spot with Celtic currently in the driving spot.  At odds of 1.95, I like the home win in this one, they picked up a solid 3-0 away win last time these two met and I can see this being a similar result.

Bayern Munich v PSG is the biggest game of the night in my opinion and although I can’t see Bayern scoring enough to top the group (they need to win by more than 3 goals) this should be a very entertaining game.  No bet from me.

Roma v Qarabag kickoff Group C and this looks like a home win.  It’s so clear the bookies have this around 1.08.  Clearly, I’m not betting at that kind of money and the Win To Nil market is no better.  I’m staying out of this one.

Chelsea v Atletico is a tricky one.  Atletico have let their standards drop this season but they really need a win (and Roma not to win) to qualify for the next round.  No bet from me but I fully expect Atletico to be playing in the Europa League after Christmas.

Group D is very simple.  Juventus and Barcelona are going to qualify from this group and they’ll both win their games.  That puts Barcelona through as Group winners but the odds are too low to be betting on either side.

That wraps up Tuesday night’s games nicely.  There are several more options for Wednesday night’s games and you can read about those here.
