The World Cup qualifiers are back and Friday has a bumper crop of matches for us.
Although some of the ”bigger” teams don’t play until Saturday there are some interesting games and some games worth betting on.
Let’s quickly run through the matches and see what’s of interest.
The games start with the Concacaf region. The USA are strong favourites to beat Trinidad & Tobago at home, so strong there isn’t even a sliver of value. It’s worth betting on Costa Rica to win at home against Panama with 5Dimes though, certainly at the odds of 1.57 they have on offer. It’s also worth taking a look at Mexico -1.5 (2.03 with Pinnacle) in their game against Honduras.
I’ll skip over Solomon Islands v Papua New Guinea as there’s nothing there for me.
Then we’re onto the European section and there are some interesting games in here.
It’s tempting to bet on the Hungarian side to knock a few past Andorra, the minnows are a good side to face and a healthy win is always expected. You have to go out to Hungary -2.5 before the odds get really interesting but that should be achievable and will be a good run-out for this young Hungarian team. BetVictor are offering 2.06 and I’ve got a small bet on it.
I’m happy to skip Belarus v Bulgaria and will instead mmove onto Bosnia & Herzegovina against Greece where I’m backing the home side to be victorious.at 1.72 with 5Dimes I think there’s some value in this one and this is a pretty good Bosnian team that shouldn’t be underestimated.
Estonia are going to catch someone out in this qualifying section but it won’t be Belgium who should win this one quite comfortably. I quite like Belgium to win to nil but I want better than the 1.57 on offer with Ladbrokes.
The Faroe Islands are another one of those sides that pretty much everyone is expected to beat in the qualifiers and I’m going for Switzerland -2 as they travel to face the islanders. I reckon this one gets me my money back at least at 2.07 with Pinnacle.
Then we have 3 games to miss as we look at Latvia v Portugal, Gibraltar v Cyprus and the Netherlands v Luxembourg. Best thing to do with those is thrown them in an accumulator with Belgium and Hungary, see what odds you get.
Finally, onto the biggest European match of the night. Sweden v France. Sweden are tough to beat with a decent defence, France are an excellent side brimming with talent and set up to attack. Certainly the attacking onus will be on France in this one. Sweden don’t have a huge number of goals in their quad, Marcus Berg leading the way with 12. They are a solid side though and Lindelöf, Lustig, Larsson et al will certainly make this a fight for the French.
France have a veritable who’s who of international talent with Lloris, Pogba, Dembele, Giroud, Griezmann, Mbappé and others all vying for places in the team.
This should be an excellent game and is my pick for viewing. I’m going for Under 2.5 goals in this one at 1.7 with Pinnacle.
