Anthony Joshua is best priced at just 1/16 (1.06) to beat Eddie Ruiz Jr. when they lock horns at Madison Square Garden on June 1.

The IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight champion was supposed to fight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller in his first fight on US soil. He was priced at 1/6 (1.17) to beat the American, but Miller returned an adverse finding in a doping test and had to be withdrawn from the contest. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, turned to New Yorker Ruiz as a replacement, and the Brit is expected to make short work of his new opponent.

Ruiz has won 32 of his 33 fights, with his sole defeat coming at the hands of New Zealand’s Joseph Parker. Joshua went on to beat Parker, his only fight that went the distance, and he is the heavy favourite to beat Ruiz too. You can find 12/1 (13.0) on the American with Betfair, while Joshua is best priced at 1/16 (1.06) with 10Bet. For a tiny bit more value, you can back Joshua to knock him out at 1/4 (1.25) with Bet365 and a few others. Betfair also has a very tempting 10/11 (1.91) on Joshua winning in rounds 1-6. He will not want to put Ruiz down too quickly, in order to give the New Yorkers a proper show, but he is a clearly superior fighter and that dominance should tell at the Garden on June 1.
