UFC Fight Night lands in St.Petersburg, Russia this weekend. Headlining the card will be Heavyweight’s Alistar Overeem and Alexey Oleynik. Betting Odd’s are available, so let’s take a look at the card and try to seek some value in the underdogs.

The Dogs Odds

Rafael Fiziev vs. Magomed Mustafaev

Fiziev (2.50 - 6/4 @ Bet365)

Mustafaev (1.57 - 4/7 @ Bet365)

In the Lightweight division, Rafael Fiziev will be making his UFC debut against after a successful KO in Titan Fighting Championship he has been called up to the big leagues. Making his debut against Magomed Mustafaev won’t be an easy one, but with much time spent away from the octagon for Magomed… I think Rafael has what it takes to get the job done this weekend.

6-0 professional career for Fiziev has seen him finish five out of six of those fights in the first round! Fiziev strikes very technical and packs some serious power behind it as well. His Muay Thai back is evident, with his stance and great clinch work resembling the Muay Thai style. I like Fiziev to impress in his UFC debut here and he might even take Magomed to his first decision fight. In fact, between both fighters, they have had 21 professional fights and none have gone to decision.

Magomed hasn’t fought since 2016 but still posses a lot of danger to Rafael, not only has Magomed already dealt with the bright lights of the UFC, but he has also fought a high calibre of the opponent in the likes of UFC veteran Kevin Lee. Magomed should use his wrestling, but for some reason, he doesn’t seem to utilize it much. Probably due to the fact that he can easily end the fight with his hands, but in this spot, I think Rafael is the better striker and Magomed will accept the striking battle.

With a lot of questions surrounding Fiziev with him only having six professional fights, staking half a unit is probably the most I’d be looking at betting on this fight.

Alen Amedovski vs. Krzysztof Jotko

Amedovski (2.60 –13/8 @ William Hill)

Jotko (1.57 – 4/7 @ Bet365)

In the Middleweight division, we have newcomer Alen Amedovski vs UFC veteran Krzysztof Jotko, in which should be a heavy hitting clash at the Yubileyny Sports Palace in Russia.

Alen comes in on an 8-fight career win streak, winning all of his fights by KO/TKO. Although Alen does have a few red flags here, Jotko has an undesirable chin and is prone to a knockout. Versus somebody with Amendovskis power, I worry Jotko might be served up his fourth consecutive loss.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/DpTsG1EjT08\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen></iframe>"}[/]

Alex does lack takedown defence, which is one of my main worries for him…but his power cannot be ignored especially against an opponent who has been knocked out in his previous two fights in the UFC. Jotko could make this a boring one, and grapple his way through three rounds to a decision victory, but as all fight starts standing… I’ll take my shot on the newcomer and underdog gaining another TKO victory on his resume.

Find out all the best Fighting Odds

Since the first ‘Dogs and Their Odds’ article, we have managed to cash at least one underdog every week.
