UFC Fight Night lands in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this weekend. Headlining the card will be Middleweight’s Jacare Souza and Jack Hermansson. Betting Odd’s are available, so let’s take a look at the card and try to seek some value in the underdogs.

The Dogs Odds

Alex Oliveira (1.44 –4/9 @ Betway) vs. Mike Perry (2.63 – 13/8 @ Betway)

Oh boy, are we in for a treat with this one! ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry who is adored worldwide, steps into the octogen to face the ju-jitsu/Muay Thai specialist Alex ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira.

Unlucky in his previous fight with the American ‘Cowboy’ Donald Cerrone, Mike seemed to be doing well until he decided to take the fight to the floor…which should be a similar game plan in this fight coming up. If Mike keeps this fight standing and can avoid the takedown then he should have a great advantage especially if he finds himself in a brawling situation.

I love the odd’s on Perry and I think he’s worth half a unit at least. I think Mike Perry is also fighting the final fight on his contract and although a fan favourite… no doubt he’ll have the worry of not being offered a contract coming off a loss.

Oliveira certainly has more tools to get the job done, and definitely has the higher fight IQ between the two fighters but given the circumstances from Mikes previous loss… I feel like he will do all he can to keep this fight a striking battle. This fight has two outcomes, we either watch Perry knockout Oliveira or he’ll be out grappled and submitted… I’ll take the knockout.

Alex Oliveira vs Mike Perry

Ion Cutelaba (1.73 –13/8 @ Bet365) vs. Glover Texeira (2.10 – 11/10 @ Bet365)

The big boys square up in our next feature, Veteran Glover Texeira comes up against the young Moldovan Ion Cutelaba.

Glover is an excellent boxer who can put together a great one-two combination, he also possesses great wrestling attributes. I feel like Ion is dangerous, but if he doesn’t get this fight over quick… he could be in for a long night with the crafty veteran Glover. Although not as athletic as he once was, I still think there are a few fight’s lefts in the old dog, with 17 knockouts in his career and only 3 finishes against him…Ion has his work cut out for him.

It’s not all doom and gloom for Ion, he is younger, he has a lot of power and he is also coming off two consecutive victories he ended both in the first round by way of knockout. Unfortunately for Ion, he’s facing a very experienced striker in Glover. I think Glover will use his striking to simply implement a grappling strategy which is clearly Ion’s weakness here.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/Sk6OTe8_1Jo\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen></iframe>"}[/]

I think this if Glovers fight to lose if he can handle the aggressive youth Ion will bring early… I’m sure he can claim the victory here. There is a good chance Glover will take Ion down, and towards the later round’s I’m not sure Ion will be able to hang around for very long. I wouldn’t be surprised by a ground and pound or submission finish from Glover.

I was really excited for this week’s card; the odds didn’t match my feelings. I wanted to talk about at least 3-4 underdog’s for UFC Ft. Lauderdale but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find much value across the 13 fight’s scheduled. So, my second and final underdog this week will be Glover Texeira. As always, stake wisely and only what you can afford.

UFC Fight Night 150 will take place this Saturday 27th April live from BB&T Sports Centre in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

If you would like to check up on any underdogs or odds not mentioned in this article then click HERE.

For some of the best odds available at UFC check out William Hill or Bet365.
