It’s been an eventful six weeks since starting the ‘Punching Parlay’ article, to say the least, a 6-week win streak has kept profit’s nice and tidy to start season one. Let’s take a peek at the weekends huge PPV event coming live from Atlanta.

Israel Adesanya vs Kelvin Gastelum

We have been gifted a Middleweight Interim title fight as the co-main event for this weekend’s UFC 236 PPV, and what a bloody good fight It is! (15-3-0) Middleweight contender Kelvin Gastelum takes on UFC rising superstar Israel Adesanya who is yet to have been defeated inside the octogen (16-0-0).

Although Kelvin has a wrestling background it's very rare that we see it, in this type of fight Kelvin could give himself a huge advantage if Adesanya can’t successfully sprawl or fend off the takedown. That said, I’ll give Israel the advantage given his huge size and half decent clinch control. He will fend any type of takedown attempt and make Kelvin pay for it with elbows and knees.

I see a lot of people calling Adesanya a hype train and overrated, much like McGregor on his rise in the UFC the harsh critics will always come along with the success, but anybody studying or involved in martial arts can clearly see Adesanya is no fluke and deserves to be the number one contender for the Middleweight Interim title.

I think it will be tough for Gastelum to even land many strikes in this fight, I can see his punches coming up short against the nine-inch reach disadvantage Kelvin is up against in this bout.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

🎶 Numbers don't lie. Check the scoreboard 🎶 @Stylebender #UFC236 ;/a>
— UFC (@ufc) April 9, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Israel has all the tools to defeat Kelvin but I’m not too sure he can finish the fight. I do expect a high volume of strikes landed by Israel in comparison to Kelvin which will put the gold around his waist on the judge's scorecard. Kelvin has a granite chin should survive the five, five-minute rounds this Saturday night.

So that brings me to the first leg of this weeks ‘Punching Parlay’.

Israel Adesanya at 1.59 – 59/100 with Pinnacle.

(Montel Jackson)

Montel Jackson vs Andre Soukhamthath

Montel Jackson is a huge favourite and comes in the as the highest price on the entire card. The elite level wrestler should have one clear game plan here, and if he sticks to it then the win will be secured without a shadow of a doubt.

Montel has the body type that succeeds in the UFC. Much similar to Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones, the long and lengthy reach combined with the athleticism and elite level wrestling Montel has the tools to be a future top 10 bantamweight.

7-1 (1-1 UFC) Jackson should be able to control this fight from start to finish, so long as he uses his wrestling and doesn’t get himself into any slugfests it should be an easy win for Montel.

Jacksons Olympic level wrestling background should give him a huge edge in this fight, although the value is non-existent, he will round off this weeks ‘Punching Parlay’ to near even odds.

Montel Jackson at 1.20 – 1/5 with Pinnacle will complete this weeks ‘Punching Parlay’.

Punching Parlay

Israel Adesanya at 1.59 – 59/100 with Pinnacle

Montel Jackson at 1.20 – 1/5 with Pinnacle

Odds: 1.91 – 10/11 with Pinnacle
Stake: £100 / 1u
Returns: £ 190.80
Profit: £90.80
Starting Bankroll: £100 (1unit / 1u)
Current Parlay Bank: £705.16 (7units/7u)

The Weekly Punching Parlay Record: 6-0 past six events

When is UFC 236? Saturday 13th April 2019 - 11:15 pm (GMT)

Where is UFC 236? State Farm Arena Atlanta, USA

What channel is UFC 236 on? UFC Fight Pass & BT Sport

For viewers in the United States ESPN+
