Season One was a great run for the Odds Market gang as we accomplished a 10-0 parlay/accumulator streak across the previous 10 UFC events. Heading into the second season let’s try and hit some nice profit throughout the summertime.

Raoni Barcelos vs. Carlos Huachin

One of the biggest losing statistics regarding UFC bouts is those that involve debuting fighters. Not only is Carlos making his debut in Brazil, he is making it versus one tough S.O.B! Raoni Barcelos is the biggest favourite on the card and I hate to use the word guarantee, but if someone was to ask me who has the best chance of winning this weekend, Raoni would be my guy.

Carlos has no takedown defence; his striking is rather reckless and Barcelos is the exact opposite with those skills. Avoiding a reckless exchange with Carlos is the only task Raoni has to accomplish in my eyes, on doing so he should sail through this fight and is capable to provide the home crowd with an impressive knockout or submission. At the tender age of 22, I can’t see Carlos having the fight IQ or experience to take out Raoni as this one should sway precisely how the bookmaker predicts.

Barcelos will be on top form for his native country Brazil, this early fight on the prelims should provide a positive start to the ‘Punching Parlay’.

Raoni Barcelos at 1.19 – 19/100 with William Hill.

(Clay Guida)

Clay Guida vs. BJ Penn

As an avid fan of the UFC since the early 2000s, I can’t help but smile when I see these two names on a big fight card. Will I be smiling when BJ Penn suffers another brutal loss? Probably not… I don’t want to sympathise with BJ Penn like the masses. He’s a grown man and if he feels like he can fight, let the man have a damn fight… BUT, there comes a time where you should probably take a look at your record with no wins since 2010 say to yourself “ok, no more denial, fix up”.

So maybe because BJ Penn lost his previous fight by submission, he might be thinking “shit ok, I’m still good”, but how wrong could he be. Clay is also an ageing legend but on the opposite side of BJ because Clay is 2-1 in his previous three fights. Clay Is a savage, BJ is way past his fighting days. It’s actually sad to see.

Clay is going to come out and smother BJ Penn with strikes, BJ won’t know what’s hit him. This fight would have been cool ten years ago, but it’s 2019 and BJ wouldn’t even survive in the amateurs when looking at his recent fights.

It’s going to be a knockout or ground and pound TKO, I just don’t think BJ has enough left in the tank to survive three rounds with anybody in the UFC let alone ‘The Carpenter’ Clay Guida. Aggressive in style, constant forward pressure and with the Brazilian fans going wild… Clay Guida will wrap up this week’s episode of ‘The Punching Parlay’.

Clay Guida Wins Inside the Distance at 1.65 – 13/20 with William Hill

(Irene Aldana)

Irene Aldana vs Bethe Correia

In the previous fight I mentioned that Barcelos would be my most confident pick on the card, Irene would come in a close second without a shadow of a doubt. Not many females in this division have the boxing skill Aldana has acquired and versus Bethe Correia who we barely see in competition, it should be an easy W for the Mexican Bantamweight.

Younger and hungrier, Irene has the advantage over Bethe in most areas possible. One of the only females in the division who has legitimate knockout power, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bethe starring up at the lights at some point. The reach is going to be a problem for Bethe, combined with the aggressiveness Irene will bring I think Bethe might become overwhelmed.

Bethe hasn’t impressed us much, losing by knockout to Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm it’s no surprise she has taken a long layoff… Her skillset needed serious work but the question remains what does a 35-year-old version of Bethe bring to the octogen in 2019? Not enough to defeat Irene Aldana, I know this much! Another early fight, and hopefully another victory for the punching parlay.

Irene Aldana Wins at 1.37 – 4/11 with William Hill

Punching Parlay Wrap Up

· Raoni Barcelos at 1.19 – 19/100 with William Hill.

· Clay Guida Wins Inside the Distance at 1.65 – 13/20 with William Hill

· Irene Aldana Wins at 1.37 – 4/11 with William Hill

Odds: 2.69 – 69/100 with William Hill

Stake: £150 / 1.5u

Returns: £ 403.50

Profit: £253.50

Starting Bankroll: £150 (1.5unit / 1.5u)

Current Parlay Bank: £150 (1.5 Units/1.5u starting stake)

The Weekly Punching Parlay Season 2 Record: 0-0

Season One

Record: 10-0

End of Season Profit: (£1154, 10.1 Units of Profit)

Starting Stake: £100 (1 Unit)

The Weekly Punching Parlay is documented and trackable through our fighting section on the Odds Market website.

Follow DaveBets on Twitter HERE.

DaveBets ‘Dogs and Their Odds’ article available HERE.
