UFC 238 has MMA fans worldwide anticipating the events that will take place this weekend at the United Center in Chicago. Will there be any light at the end of the tunnel for Season 2 of ‘The Punching Parlay’.

Petr Yan vs Jimmie Rivera

On the main card, the MMA gods blessed us with another fix of the Bantamweight prospect Petr Yan. With one of his toughest opponents to date, Jimmie Rivera will be looking to play spoiler and put a stop to Yans 7-fight win streak.

The 26 year old Russian is making improvements from fight to fight which is a scary thought, how much more can Yan improve?

4-0 in the UFC octagon, nobody has managed to put a stop to Petr ‘No Mercy’ Yan and I’m not confident that Jimmie can be that roadblock. Jimmie is an awesome Bantamweight fighter but matched against Yan his weaknesses will be exposed.

Both fighters have great takedown defence so I expect this fight to stay standing for the entire 15 minutes unless we witness a finish of course. Jimmie holds the experience advantage but other than that, Jimmies facing a young and hungry undefeated Russian who has the upper hand in a striking battle.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

WOW! With three wins and two knockouts in the UFC, Kattar has had an impressive run so far in his short UFC career.

With great cardio and technical striking, Kattar has the advantage in the striking department. Lamas is known for his wrestling but Kattar has shown to have imposing takedown defence. Lamas does have dangerous submissions but as mentioned prior, Kattar should be more than capable of handling Lamas and his wrestling.

Both fighters are going to bring it, that’s for sure… I respect Lamas and believe he still has more wins in the tank, but Kattar has impressed me even in his losses.

With the height and reach advantage, Kattar should find himself in a comfortable territory by striking at range. Susceptible to leg kicks could be an issue, but I have confidence in Kattar and his striking ability.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

\"Beautiful precision... highly aggressive but very accurate.\" @CalvinKattar #UFC238 pic.twitter.com/26CILayPhc
— UFC (@ufc) June 5, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Calvin Kattar at [1.62] [8/13] [-162] with WilliamHill

Angela Hill vs Yan Xiaonan

The female Strawweights will be on the preliminary card this weekend when the undefeated Yan Xiaonan faces Angela Hill.

Yan has shown us on multiple occasions since joining the UFC just how tough she is, clean sweeping her three fights in the UFC by decision, Yan is an aggressor with speed and great cardio. With an unorthodox striking style, Yan has been a puzzle no other fighter has figured out since 2010.

For Angela Hill to find any success in this fight I feel that she would need to clinch, level change and possibly attempt a grappling battle with Yan. This is not Angela's style, she will stand and bang with Yan and I love Yan's chances of taking another decision victory here.

Both fighters have an easy style of fighting to read, Yan pressures almost all of her fights with a constant wide range of strikes. Angela Hill should be good in the exchanges for one round, but Hill slows down considerably after the first five minutes whilst her counterpart excels the longer the fight goes on.

This fight might actually be good to live bet, as I expect Hill to do quite well in the first and then lose the later rounds. That said, I’m confident Yan will get the W and she will be the final leg for this weeks punching parlay.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Xiaonan Yan's finish of Seo Hee Lim R1 at Road FC 30 (2016) #ufc238 pic.twitter.com/QMytHipwwf
— LORD HONKY HUMUNGUS (@Mr_Honky) June 5, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Yan Xiaonan at [1.50] [1/2] [-200] with WilliamHill

Punching Parlay Wrap Up

Petr Yan at [1.30] [3/10] [-333]

Calvin Kattar at [1.62] [8/13] [-162]

Yan Xiaonan at [1.50] [1/2] [-200]

Parlay Odds: [3.16] [54/25] [+216]

Stake: £100 / 1u

Returns: £316

Profit: £216

Current Parlay Bank: -4 Units/-4.0u

The Weekly Punching Parlay Season 2 Record: 0-3

Season One

Record: 10-0

End of Season 1 Profit: (£1154, 10.1 Units of Profit)

Starting Stake: £100 (1 Unit)

The Weekly Punching Parlay is documented and trackable through our fighting section on the Oddsmarket website.

Follow DaveBets on Twitter HERE.

DaveBets ‘Dogs and Their Odds’ article available HERE.
