Can we make the correct underdog betting predictions once again?

The Dogs Odds

Germaine De Randamie vs Aspen Ladd
Saturday 13th July at the Golden 1 Centre

Betting Tip: Germaine De Randamie to win at 2.35 with Unibet

In the main event of the night, ladies from the Bantamweight division make their claim for a title fight when new blood Aspen Ladd takes on the experienced Germaine De Randamie.

Ladd has been impressive in her UFC stint and is taking this fight just 7 weeks after her previous bout against Sijara Eubanks.

Firstly, I think Ladd has huge potential and will flourish in the years to come but heading towards a title shot so early might affect her path to the title. She knows the game plan for GDR but focusing on the takedown could quite easily hand Aspen her first loss. If GDR finds success in defending the takedown early on it will knock Ladd’s confidence which won’t fare well on the feet against a well-seasoned striker in GDR.

Ladd has had a great run in her professional MMA career but has never faced such a fierce and experienced striker like GDR is, the former champion holds a huge advantage in the striking department and a 5inch reach advantage to go with it. The plan for GDR is simple, stuff the takedown and piece up Ladd on the feet, kick and punch combinations should flow easy for the Brazilian and switching stances with her distance striking will cause Ladd a whole heap of trouble.

So, the path to victory for Ladd is obviously a grappling exchange where she can take this fight to the mat but with GDR holding 88% takedown defence, will the blue-chip prospect struggle against the toughest competition she’s faced to date? I believe so… Size and strength is not something GDR is lacking; I think she can sprawl the takedown and keep this fight standing where she has a clear advantage. Ladd is tough as old boots but still so young, without a doubt she will be fighting for the title one day but as of right now, she needs to gain more experience and fine-tune her skillset.

Some statistics below you may find interesting:

GDR has a five-inch reach advantage

Ladd is undefeated in 8 fights

GDR has an 88% takedown defence rate

Tip: GDR to win @ [2.35] [11/8] [+138] with Unibet

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Here's Germaine de Randamie knocking out a dude 😳 #UFC208 pic.twitter.com/OYE2TYfbxB
— MMA GiFs (@MMAxGiFS) 11 de fevereiro de 2017
\n"}[/]

Josh Emmett vs Misrad Bektic

Saturday 13th July at the Golden 1 Centre

Betting Tip: Josh Emmett to win at 2.40 with Bet365

Josh Emmett for 2.40 on the betting line, yes, please! I have been a fan of Josh for a long time and when a man begs to be on a fight card, you best believe he’s going to put on a performance of a lifetime. Home town boy Emmett finally has his shot to fight in Sacramento, his place of birth. The man is the epitome of power and strength, he holds KO power like no other and I would be worried if Misrads previous performance against Ricardo Lamas is the best he will have for Emmett.

We can’t ignore how easy it was for Ricardo Lamas to connect with Misrad in their fight, Josh Emmett only needs to connect with one power punch and it will be lights out for Misrad. Once upon a time, Misrad was a huge prospect but even in recent victories, the hype seems to have died down with lacklustre performances.

I think Misrad losing by KO to Darren Elkins is a clear indication that he can be put down and with Josh Emmett standing in front of him… I’m not confident he can avoid that knockout for 15 minutes, especially when he showed weaknesses in his gas tank against Ricardo Lamas.

Defending the takedown should be Emmett’s only worry heading into the fight on Saturday, he is not the type of fighter that has been easily controlled and he doesn’t tend to lose grappling battles so easily, I love his chances in defending this strategy Misrad is bound to implement into the fight and possibly landing yet another devastating knockout.

Some statistics below you may find interesting:

Emmett’s past three fights have all ended by KO

Misrad Bektic has been absent for over 13 months

Prediction/Betting Tip: Josh Emmett to win @ [2.40] [11/8] [+138] with Bet365

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

OH MY GOODNESS! 😱😱😱

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! 💥💥💥

Josh Emmett with one of best knockouts you will see!#UFCPhiladelphia pic.twitter.com/2ZEkG00tvL
— UFC on BT Sport (@btsportufc) 31 de março de 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Wellington Turman vs Karl Roberson

Saturday 13th July at the Golden 1 Centre

Betting Tip: Wellington Turman to win at 2.88 with Bet365

Very interesting odds making in this next matchup. We have a newcomer from Brazil making his debut in the UFC middleweight division taking on Karl Roberson who holds a 2-3 record in the UFC.

Roberson is dropping down from the Light Heavyweight division and has a slight size advantage, he is a seasoned kickboxer and should be able to handle himself on the feet but where I can see Karl struggling is in the grappling exchanges between the two.

Roberson only has 9 professional fights at the age of 28, Turman has 17 professional fights and is only 22 years old! It's crazy to think the younger, debuting fighter holds the experience advantage and is taking on a fighter in Roberson who struggles when facing grapplers.

I’m don’t usually favour the debuting fighter but I’m anticipating a huge first fight for Turman in this spot. Roberson’s lack of experience and a questionable 2-2 record in the UFC makes me lean towards Turman and then combine that with Roberson’s weak grappling, it looks like it could be a long night for the American.

Prediction/Betting Tip: Wellington Turman to win @ [2.88] [15/8] [+188] with Bet365

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Wellington Turman mounted Wellington Machado and finished w/ a couple of GNP shots R1 at SHC - Striker's House Cup 41 (2014) #UFCSacramento pic.twitter.com/sQHw2qyFQc
— LORD HONKY HUMUNGUS (@Mr_Honky) 7 de julho de 2019
\n\n"}[/]

UFC Sacramento will take place this Saturday night July 13th, live from the Golden 1 Centre in Sacramento, California.
