Last week was possibly the unluckiest loss the ‘Punching Parlay‘ has suffered to date, do you have a little faith?

Season Three Episode One Rant

Season three episode one didn’t go to plan, Pudilova decided her staying alive inside the distance record in the UFC wasn’t of interest anymore. I mean come on, 5 fights inside the UFC and every single one of them ending by the decision and now she decides to tap out… Anyway, this week I love the parlay/accumulator I have conjured up, awesome value and great confidence in my chosen warriors.

Vicente Luque vs Mike Perry

Punching Parlay 1st Leg: Vicente Luque [1.48] [-208] [12/25] @ Bet365

Season three episode one didn’t go to plan, but Vicente Luque’s path of destruction since losing to Leon Edwards back in 2017 has… 1 submission, 2 technical knockouts and 2 clean knockouts have gifted the Brazilian Welterweight with a beautiful highlight reel and an opportunity at a big named fight against Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry.

9-2 in the UFC Luque is gradually making his way into title contention and with his only loss in recent time coming against a current title contender, I think the 27-year-old is only getting better as the year's progress and his experience becomes wider.

Training out of ‘Hard Knocks 365’ gym amongst the likes of Kamaru Usman, Robbie Lawler & Luke Rockhold can’t be bad for the come-up either. Vicente is on a five-fight win streak finishing all of those inside the distance, if Vicente pulls off another finish then we’ll see a huge fight lined up for him. He will know the importance of this win so you should expect another highlight-reel finish, especially given the track record of both fighters and how they are both renowned to leave it all in the cage.

Mike Perry is a hard-hitting American training out of ‘Fusion X-Cel’, Perry has bounced back and forth between his win/loss record with 6 wins, 4 losses. Old school boxing and slugfests are all Perry really knows; I hate to say one dimensional but it is what it is… Perry does have a path to victory but that comes by a fluke knockout in the first round.

The more technically profound striker and well-rounded fighter are Luque. We witnessed how easy it was for Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone to submit Perry and if Luque is smart he’ll take that blueprint and run with it. Perry will be looking to brawl, close the distance and swing for the fences.

Luque is the more advanced of the two, he has more paths to victory and is currently riding an awesome streak of finishes… I’d be stupid not to take ‘The Silent Assassin’ in this weeks ‘Punching Parlay’.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Even on short notice, Vicente Luque is one BAD DUDE! pic.twitter.com/F5SXXcJkUk
— FOX Sports: UFC (@UFCONFOX) October 7, 2018
"}[/]

Rodolfo Viera vs Oskar Piechota

Punching Parlay 2nd Leg: Rodolfo Viera [1.45] [-225] [4/9] @ Bet365

A long-awaited debut from a Ju-Jitsu specialist couldn’t be more fitting for the PP, Rodolfo ‘The Black Belt Hunter’ Viera has dominated the Ju-Jitsu scene for a long time and his debut is looking to be the perfect showcase fight for Viera.

The 29year-old Middleweight has a 5-0 record all by submission or TKO, his style is similar to Demian Maia and so are the skills he has to offer on the ground. Viera does hold knockout power as most Middleweights do, but a striking battle is something he will be looking to avoid. I think cardio will be vital here and Piechota tends to fade heading towards later rounds.

I think we’ll see a Brazilian Ju-Jitsu exhibition, if Viera doesn’t catch Piechota in an early submission I’m confident he’ll find a neck and squeeze before the 15-minute clock runs out. The UFC are clearly high on the Brazilian and so am I, Piechota doesn’t have the skill level to match Viera’s grappling and should eventually fall victim to ‘The Black Belt Hunter’.

Punching Parlay Wrap Up

· Vicente Luque at [1.48] [1/2] [-200]

· Rodolfo Viera at [1.45] [4/9] [-225]

Parlay/Accumulator Odds: [2.15] [23/20] [+115] with Bet365

Stake: £150 (1.5u)

Returns: £322.50 (3.2u)

Profit: £172.50 (1.7u)

Bankroll: £-127 (-1.27u)

The Weekly Punching Parlay Season 3 Record: 0-1

Season One

Record: 10-0

End of Season 1 Profit: (+10.1 Units of Profit)

Starting Stake: £100 (1 Unit)

Season Two

Record: 3-7

End of Season 1 Profit: (-4.95 Units of Profit)

Starting Stake: £150 (1.5 Units)

UFC Fight Night 156 takes place on Saturday 10th August live from The Antel Arena in Uruguay

The Weekly Punching Parlay is documented and trackable through our fighting section on the Odds Market website.
