The depression ends here, UFC is back!!! After a week break can we get back to winning ways at UFC Fight Night 157 in Shenzhen, China?

The Dogs Odds

First things first welcome back! It’s been a long week off with no UFC on the box but need not fear, we’re back for another 8-week run of back to back weekend UFC events. Set your alarms because the UFC is hosting in Shenzhen this weekend with China’s female MMA hero Weili Zhang getting her shot at the female Strawweight championship. Jessica Andrade shows true champion spirit and will defend her title in hostile territory when travelling to China for UFC Fight Night 157.

Jun Yong Park vs Anthony Hernandez

UFC Fight Night 157 takes place on Saturday 31st August live from The Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China

Betting Prediction/Tip: Jun Yong Park @ 2.63 [+163] with Bet365

Six-foot, 28-year old, riding a nine-fight win streak and making his UFC debut in China… Our first dog of the week will be Jun Yong Park. The UFC middleweight division will show-case two up and coming fighters with some great advantages I see in favour of the dog.

I love the foot movement and durability of Park; I don’t see this fight going to the ground with both men having enough confidence in their striking to keep this one standing. If Park can keep his neck away from Hernandez and his dangerous guillotine, he should have enough success on the feet to take away the scrappy decision victory. I don’t expect a clean, clear victory in this match. Park will have to put the work in to win each round but with his UFC debut being close to home (Korea), Hernandez will be the outsider for this one.

Hernandez made his UFC debut again Markus Perez and suffered a second-round defeat via the Anaconda Choke submission.

Park vs Hernandez is not an easy fight to call, but the betting line doesn’t make sense. Hernandez didn’t impress me much against Perez and I think Park can stall any dangerous attack from Hernandez. If Hernandez wants to grapple, I feel Park has enough clinch power to disengage or even potentially gain an advantage.

With a fight card so slim on decent underdog’s, I think Park could be a diamond in the dirt. We have seen a few guys with slim records like Hernandez who seem to be entering the UFC with such little experience. These types of fights are a cause for concern. With Park holding the underdog number at 2.62/+162… I have no problem laying a half unit in this spot.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Jun Yong Park's end of the fight HL's vs Jae Woong Kim at Top FC 6 (2015) #UFCChina #UFCShenzhen pic.twitter.com/k2LEYiNoac
— LORD HONKY HUMUNGUS (@Mr_Honky) August 22, 2019
"}[/]

Some statistics below you may find interesting

Park is making his UFC debut

Park is on a 7-fight win streak

Hernandez has four round 1 Guillotine finishes

Dogs and Some Props

Weili Zhang vs Jessica Andrade
UFC Fight Night 157 takes place on Saturday 31st August live from The Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China
Betting Tip: Zhang to win @ 2.63 [+163] with Bet365
Betting Tip #2: Fight goes the distance @ 2.00 [+100] with Bet365

Some believe the UFC is throwing Weili Zhang straight into the lion’s den by putting her up against Jessica Andrade but I’m not one of those people. Zhang is riding a 19-fight win streak but for some reason is being overlooked in this bout.

20 professional fights, Zhang has lost one. That loss came by a decision which is paramount, nobody has finished this girl. I understand Andrade has enough power to knock out the majority of female Strawweight’s on the UFC roster but I just don’t expect Zhang to fall in that category.

Just three UFC fights on her resume, I can comprehend as to why some think Zhang is untested but how many female fighter’s do you know that hold a record with such dominant performances. Instantly people will say this is a huge step up in competition but just watch the girls fight-tape and you’ll soon realise she is more than deserving of this title opportunity. Zhang will be more than capable of matching Andrade’s strength which has is a key attribute in the champions toolbox. Not only that, Zhang is fighting in her home country. It almost smells like the UFC believe Zhang can win this fight given they’re holding the event in Shenzhen.

Zhang has the chance to become a global superstar with a win in China, she will walk out with a 20-1 record and the UFC strawweight title around her waist if she can neutralize the aggressive forward pressure from that Andrade will bring to the table. Zhang is fast, powerful, technical and in my opinion has a huge chance to cause an upset.

With my bias towards Zhang aside, I don’t think either girl will be finished inside the five rounds. Both fighters are so resilient, it’s almost impossible to visualize Zhang or Andrade being finished. My final prediction for this fight will be Weili Zhang to win by decision, but given that we have great odds for both markets I will be placing 0.5u on both Zhang to win and fight goes the distance.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

.@jessicammapro and Weili Zhang face off for the Strawweight title at #UFCShenzhen.

Our @drosssports previews the exciting bout. #ChangeInPlay pic.twitter.com/aVVHCq7IGL
— Stadium (@Stadium) August 28, 2019
"}[/]

Some statistics below you may find interesting

Zhang is on a 19-fight win streak

Andrade is 7-1 at 115lbs

Zhang has never been finished

UFC Shenzhen takes place on Saturday 31st August live from the Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China.

If you would like to check up on any underdogs or odds not mentioned in this article then click HERE
