After an incredible weekend in Abu Dhabi at UFC 242, we’re now straight back to the bookmakers for UFC Fight Night 158 betting tips and predictions

The Dogs Odds

We are just days out from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s dominant title defence over Dustin Poirier but they’ll be no rest for the wicked… UFC Fight Night 158 is coming up this weekend with a card stacked full of heavy hitters. Let’s take a peek into some underdog’s that hold value for this weekend’s action.

Augusto Sakai vs Marcin Tybura

UFC Fight Night 158 Vancouver takes place on Saturday 14th September live from The Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

Betting Prediction/Tip: Augusto Sakai @ 2.10 with Matchbook

Awesome match-making from the UFC brass this week as we gander over the current odd’s we’re seeing a lot of betting lines that aren’t so far apart.

One line in particular that stood out to me was UFC Heavyweight bout between Augusto Sakai and Marcin Tybura.

The huge Brazilian Augusto Sakai will be making his third UFC appearance. Attempting to maintain his 4-fight consecutive win streak could be easily achieved.

Marcin Tybura has looked to be on a decline. Plain and simple, Sakai has put on better performances across his previous five matchups. Tybura hasn’t looked great, to say the least and continues to show flaws his game where Sakai seems to have improved. I favour Sakai wherever the fight takes place whether that be standing or on the ground. Sakai has the Ju-Jitsu advantage and has shown higher fight IQ than his opposition.

It’s not the biggest dog in the world, but Augusto Sakai is available at plus money across multiple bookmakers and will be our first underdog prediction for UFC Fight Night 158 Vancouver.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

With only seconds left in the fight, Augusto Sakai gets the TKO finish. pic.twitter.com/9GDaG4I6lv
— FOX Sports: UFC (@UFCONFOX) September 23, 2018
"}[/]

Some statistics below you may find interesting

Sakai is on a four-fight winning streak
Tybura is 1-3 in his previous four fights
Sakai has never been finished

Uriah Hall vs Antonio Carlos Junior

UFC Fight Night 158 Vancouver takes place on Saturday 14th September live from The Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

Betting Tip: Uriah Hall @ 2.87 with Bet365

Up next is not one for the faint-hearted. For our dog to cash he will more than likely need to get the knockout. Uriah Hall in victory or defeat will more often than not, avoid any opinions from the judges. It’s a kill or be killed type of mentality.

One of the most dangerous submission artists in the Middleweight division, Carlos Jr could easily walk out with the intent to instantly grapple Uriah and lock up a quick submission with success. The Brazilian was on a tear in the division up until Ian Heinisch played his part. An expert in Ju-Jitsu, Carlos Jr will be looking to lock in a submission throughout the entire fight. I expect him to avoid the striking battle at all costs.

Uriah’s record may have a fair amount of losses but not one of them were ended by submission. It should be noted that for this training camp, Uriah Hall got some work done at Fortis MMA with Sayif Saud which could improve Hall’s takedown defence (which will need to be on point). I’m sure Hall will not be taking this fight lightly. With back to back wins in his grasp for the first time since 2015, Uriah could easily cause the upset and find the chin of Carlos Jr.

This fight goes in two ways. Carlos Jr finds success in holding Uriah on the ground and either find a submission or works Uriah for 15 minutes and gets the nod. Alternatively, Uriah knocks him out. I’ll take the latter with the big doggy dog money.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Monsieur Uriah Hall, partie 2. pic.twitter.com/GijND3AdqA
— UFC France (@KnockoutFR) April 26, 2019
"}[/]

Some statistics below you may find interesting

Halls last five fights all ended by KO
4 of Carlos Jr’s last five wins came by Submission

UFC Fight Night 158 Vancouver will take place on the 14th September live from The Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

If you would like to check up on any underdogs or odds not mentioned in this article then click HERE
