Can ‘Dogs and Their Odds’ keep it's back to back clean sweps for the third week after UFC San Antonio?

The Dogs Odds

Greg Hardy vs Juan Adams

03:00 - Sunday 21st, Jul 2019

Betting Tip: Greg Hardy to win @ 1.95 with Coral

Green and heavy will be the headline subject whilst breaking down our first underdog play of the week. We have two heavyweights who both hold minimal experience going head to head this weekend for UFC on ESPN 4.

American Top Team prospect and former NFL player ‘Greg Hardy’ will take on another big boy in Juan Adams.

Both men stand 6 feet 5 inches in height and possess some of the most devastating power on the entire UFC roster. So, we have two heavyweights with similar records, size and experience. I can’t help but side with Greg Hardy in this bout, I expect a longer lasting cardio from Hardy and overall progression in skill-set should also side with Hardy considering he is training at one of the most highly decorated MMA gyms in the world.

One outcome I am highly confident in would be the fight ending inside the distance, neither men have ever won a fight by anything other than a KO/TKO which shows a huge probability in the ‘fight ends inside the distance’ prop. Juan Adams is making a return since his first loss, I’m not sure a decision loss to Arjan Bhullar should affect Adams and his confidence too much but it’s worth taking a mental note when placing your bets.

An interesting fact about this fight Is that Juan Adams has a personal issue with Greg Hardy and throughout the year’s he’s attempted to match up with Hardy across multiple promotions. Personal emotions could affect Juan Adams and his train of thought, focusing on the task at hand should be the only thought on a fighter’s mind.

An intriguing fight to say the least, we are going to witness a slug fest from these two heavyweights and I’ll take the already athletic fighter who should hold a speed and technical advantage on the feet. The game plan for Adams should be a grappling one, but with the animosity and hatred towards Hardy I feel that Juan will throw caution to the wind by standing and banging with Hardy. If we do see Adams implement a grappling strategy, I feel that Hardy has enough explosive atheism to take this fight back on the feet where he’ll be most comfortable.

Some statistics below you may find interesting:

Neither fighter has ever been finished

Adams returns after his first loss

For both fighters, all wins have came by knockout

Tip: Greg Hardy to win @ [1.95] [19/20] [-105] with Coral

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": ""}[/]

James Vick vs Dan Hooker

03:30 - Sunday 21st, Jul 2019

Betting Tip: James Vick to win @ 2.30 with Bet365

Next in my sights for the underdogs this week will be Lightweight fighters James Vick and Dan Hooker.

Both fighters enter the cage on Saturday coming off losing streaks. Notably, Dan Hooker took one of the most horrendous beatings we’ve witnessed in the UFC. Edson Barboza exposed Dan Hooker in devastating fashion, Hooker proved how tough he is but the referee or even Hookers corner team should have intervened before it did. A 6-month layoff is certainly more than enough time to recover physically but the question will remain has Dan Hooker recovered from the mental damage that those sorts of fights can cause.

James Vick hasn’t been on the best of runs himself, coming in on a two-fight losing streak… James Vick failed to impress in his previous bout against Paul Felder. Leg kicks and technical striking left Vick outclassed on the feet versus Felder, can the big man Vick avoid a 3-fight losing streak? In my

opinion yes, he can. He will need to avoid leg kicks and avoid Hooker if he manages to find himself inside his distance of striking.

Stylistically, this fight doesn’t give us much leeway. Either fighter has a good chance to come out victorious but for Dan Hooker to take a win I think he’ll need to finish this fight inside the distance which I don’t think Hooker can do. The odds are way off, this fight should be a ‘pick em’ and might well be by the time fight night comes around.

Based on the odds and probability, we’ll side with James Vick this week to get back in the win column.

Some statistics below you may find interesting:

James Vick has a 2-2 record against southpaws

4/5 of Hookers past fights have ended by KO

16/17 of Hookers win have been won inside the distance

Prediction/Betting Tip: James Vick to win @ [2.30] [13/10] [+130] with Betway

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Left 👊
Right 👊
Right again 👊

This James Vick combo that dispatched of Polo Reyes was a thing of beauty...

The Texecutioner takes on Paul Felder at #UFCPhoenixpic.twitter.com/qmvtSAYopq
— UFC on BT Sport (@btsportufc) 15 de fevereiro de 2019
\n"}[/]

UFC on ESPN 4 takes place on Saturday 20th July live from the AT&T Centre in San Antonio, Texas.

If you would like to check up on any underdogs or odds not mentioned in this article then click HERE.
