More fights, more drama but more importantly… more UFC predictions for UFC Fight Night 162 in Kallang, Singapore.

UFC Heavyweight Bout

Ciryl Gane vs Don’Tale Mayes

UFC Singapore takes place on Saturday, October 26th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore

As you already know, there’s nothing I love more than watching the big boys go to work in the UFC octagon. Heavyweight contenders Ciryl Gane and Don’Tale Mayes face-off in Singapore this weekend.

Ciryl Gane is an incredible striker who can also hold his own on the ground. Four professional fights with two KO’s and two submission victories gave the heavyweight a perfect start in his career. Former TKO heavyweight champion, Gane’s 4-0 MMA record doesn’t represent his full combat experience. Former, Kick boxer and Muay Thai competitor; Gane made a transition to mixed martial arts in 2017 and remains undefeated since.

Don’Tale Mayes will be making his ultimate fighting championship (UFC) debut, and a tough one it’ll be. Saying that, if you were to ask Mayes, he’d already have a name conjured up ready to call out for Saturday night’s victory speech. The confidence seems to be oozing from Mayes, after his impressive come-back run on DWCS (Dana White Contender Series) I think Mayes will be pumped for the battle in Singapore.

Mayes will need all the confidence he can get, Gane doesn’t have the MMA experience but his striking capability goes beyond Mayes and what he has to offer. Mayes has already felt a barrage of strikes from Allen Crowder and suffered a TKO loss so, we know that path to victory is possible.

It feels like another tailor-made fight to showcase some athleticism and potential that Gane has to offer in the heavyweight division.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/3ow_C0v0zo4\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen></iframe>"}[/]

At the end of the day

The striker with more speed, defence, precision and experience would be Ciryl Gane. The Frenchman is a serious competitor with a long resume of martial arts contests to his name. Of course, it’s the heavyweight division with a high percentage of knockouts but Gane is looking more likely to be the guy who’ll provide us with that highlight.

Chances are, this fight does not see 3 rounds with 15 minutes on the clock. Chances are, this fight will be over in five. With two relatively new heavyweight fighters, backing the combat experience outside of MMA has to be the route. I prefer Gane in all aspects of this fight, nothing more, and nothing less.

Accumulator betting tip 1: Ciryl Gane [1.33] [-280] @ Coral

UFC Welterweight Bout

Muslim Salikhov vs Laureano Staropoli

UFC Singapore takes place on Saturday, October 26th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore

Suffering a second-round submission loss in his debut with the UFC didn’t sit well with Muslim Salikhov. He returned fire with two knockouts in his following two contests. I think the Russian may have wasted his potential by only fighting once per year since his UFC arrival. He joined the company aged 32 but since his 3-fight venture, he’s now 35 years old moving closer to the big 4-0. I won’t hold this against Muslim, especially when considering his two brutal stoppages in his previous two bouts.

Laureano Staropoli is riding an 8-fight win streak with 2/8 taking place inside a UFC octagon. The Argentinian hadn’t seen any judges scorecards until his arrival to the UFC but, he overcame the dreaded “octagon jitters” with a unanimous decision victory in his debut, that result would be replicated his second trip to the octagon earlier this year against Thiago Alves.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https://www.youtube.com/embed/64ecF6e3R90\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen></iframe>"}[/]

At the end of the day

Muslim excels in the striking department if he were to be faced with an opponent from a wrestling origin I’d be more concerned about putting my money behind the Russian. Fortunately, he’s facing Staropoli who will give him the striking battle that’s needed.

Staropoli offers a high volume amount of strikes early on in his bouts but, towards the end of 3-round fights, you’ll see him fade. Muslim has some awesome defensive striking IQ, whilst Staropoli’s technique has a lot to be desired.

In Staropoli’s offensive attacks, he throws caution to the wind. Whilst watching his previous fights, he’s left himself open on countless occasions with his reckless approach in the octagon. Thus far, it’s worked out pretty well for Staropoli; coming up against the technical striking of Muslim could leave the extroverted Argentinian flat out cold on the canvas.

Accumulator betting pick 2: Muslim Salikhov [1.62] [-160] @ Coral

Punching Parlay Wrap Up

Ciryl Gane [1.33]

Muslim Salikhov [1.62]

Parlay/Accumulator Odds: [2.15] [+115] with Coral

Stake: £100

Returns: £215

Profit: £115

Current Bankroll: + £192 (1.9u)

The Weekly Punching Parlay Season 4 Record: 2-1

Season One Record: 10-0

End of Season 1 Profit: (+10.1 Units of Profit)

Season Two Record: 3-7

End of Season 1 Profit: (-4.95 Units of Profit)

Season Three Record: 7-3

End of Season 1 Profit: (+7.4.
