UFC Fight Night 152 returns back home to the good old USA, after a thrilling weekend in Brazil… Rafael Dos Anjos faces Kevin Lee in the main event at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. Let's take a closer look at this week's notable underdogs.

Ian Heinisch (2.75 – 7/4 @ William Hill) vs. Antonio Carlos Junior (1.53 – 8/15 @ Bet365)

As we enter our final UFC event for the month of May, Fight Night 152 has provided us with some accurate line reading. Similar to the UFC 234 event, I can visualise this fight card ending with the majority of the favourites winning which isn’t good if you take joy in hunting for an underdog like myself. Given the fight card provided isn’t giving us much to play with in terms of dog money, I will not be forcing an underdog just because but instead we can scour the prop bet market to find a replacement plus money bet.

The only underdog sparking any sort of interest from me this week is Ian Heinisch. Don’t be mistaken, Antonio Carlos Junior will be Ian’s toughest competition to date but since his first and only loss via submission back in 2017, Ian has upped his game and gone on a four-fight winning streak, knocking out three of the four to top it off.

Holding a record of 7-1-2 in the UFC, Antonio is also on a winning streak but has been a member of the UFC for a considerably longer amount of time that Ian has. I can’t remove Antonio’s loss to Dan Kelly from my mind. Without discrediting Dan Kelly too much, let's be honest… Nobody inside the UFC top 20 rankings should be losing to Dan Kelly.

One thing worrying me here is Ian’s only loss came by submission and Antonio’s speciality is the Brazilian Ju-Jitsu that he possesses. Even though on paper Antonio seems to be the superior man on the ground, if you take a look back at Ian’s fights he transitions beautifully and call me crazy… but I think Ian can handle himself very well versus Antonio no matter where the fight takes place whether it be standing or grappling.

Oh, did I forget to mention Antonio lost to Dan Kelly… Ian is a solid boxer and his wrestling is ok but the Ju-Jitsu defence is going under the radar and in my opinion, a lucky submission will be the only way Antonio can win this fight.

So, with a fight card with such perfect odds making, I think the bookie has messed this one up in the worse way. 2.75 is a HUGE price for a future middleweight prospect in Ian Heinisch.

Take Ian Heinisch to win with a half unit @ [2.75] [7/4] [+175] with William Hill

Desmond Green (1.17 – 1/6 @ Bet365) vs. Charles Jourdain (5.00 – 4/1 @ William Hill)

Don’t be alarmed, I am not thinking about taking the underdog here and to be quite frank… this dog has no chance but with the limited options in the underdog market this week, we have to set our sights on a prop bet that can give us some of that juicy plus money.

Since his debut in 2017, Desmond has been handed some very tough outings so don’t be surprised when you see he has lost 3 and won 3 inside the UFC octagon. I think the UFC gifted Desmond in his previous fight putting him up against an ageing Ross Pearson and it looks that way in this spot as well. They have a very green opponent in Charles Jourdain, and it’s highly likely that Green will expose the green in Jourdain this weekend.

Heavy amounts of the fights going the distance have propelled Desmond’s odds to win this fight by stoppage considerably… but using those old fights as a template to configure up and coming odds for Desmond are useless in my opinion because the level of competition has dramatically dropped for the Lightweight fighter.

Some statistics below you may find interesting

Jourdain is making his UFC debut

Since 2013 only 14% of debuting fighters have won

Desmond trains with 3 champions - Kamaru Usman, Robbie Lawler, and Luke Rockhold

Desmond has 6 wins by KO/TKO and 15 wins by decision

Jourdain has never won a fight by decision

Jourdain has never fought outside of Canada

Green was born in Rochester, New York

When I take into consideration that Desmond has been a point fighter for the majority of his high-level fights, I am ignoring that statistic because he is facing an opponent with a minimal amount of wins over notable opponents. In fact, nobody that Charles has defeated would last around in the UFC so I’m happy in supporting Desmond Green to get the job done inside the distance in front of his home crowd this weekend. Stake according, all fights have multiple variables that could hurt your bankroll if you bet recklessly.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\"Desmond Green, wow!\"<br /><br />What.
