The 2019 Women’s World Cup is about to get underway and with so much talk about who will win the event, the games must be played to arrive to the winner of this year’s tournament in France.

Everyone is excited for the matches to begin, as France and South Korea will open the event on June 7 at Parc des Princes in Paris. As hosts, France is listed as the co-favorites to win the event with the United States at +350 as they try to follow up the French Men’s World Cup victory just a year ago.

While the goal is clear for what the women need to do on the pitch, it is time for us to do what we do off of the pitch and that is find some action to follow up your futures bet on who you like to win the trophy.

Germany vs. China

Over 2.5 Goals at 1.80 with Pinnacle

Pinnacle is currently listing this total of 2.5 at a pretty reasonable 1.8, although we can certainly back up the play with a lovely line on a prop for this match. Even though China has struggled historically to score on Germany, none of that happened in this tournament so don’t let history stats overwhelm you.

China has done a much better job scoring than they have in recent years, and we saw some evidence of that in their final tune-up friendly against France in the 2-1 match on the final day of May.

The prop that should garner you attention is the Both Teams To Score (Yes) listed at 2.15, and we can find it as high as 2.25 should you find the right book at the right time. There is value in that this time around, as Germany wants to get off to a fast start and possess the ball as best they can.

Germany might not be taking in too many futures bets on their 9.0 to win the whole dance ahead of France or the USA, but this team does sit right behind the two favorites and is expected to have another deep run in 2019. The two-time Champions will certainly look to get off to a good start in group play, and I see no less than a 2-1 affair coming from Roazhon Park in Rennes on day 2.

Brazil vs. Jamaica

Jamaica +3 AH at 1.80 with Unibet

Brazil is laying 3 goals against Jamaica, and I cannot believe my eyes! Jamaica will be just fine to open group C as a big underdog. It is so hard to overlook the results of the Brazilian squad as they have been preparing for this event. The Brazilian women has lost 9 straight outings from their friendlies and minor tournament appearances, and that is not what I call momentum headed to the World Cup.

Jamaica is another squad that isn’t expected to score, and here we are again facing a 2.25 on the Both Teams To Score prop. I digress, because Jamaica will not struggle like the line setters are calling for, so jump on the +3 handicap line at 1.80 with some marginal juice to drink, and think about a play on the BTTS prop as well. A 3-1 call is the one I make, so play it accordingly.

New Zealand vs. Netherlands

Over 3 Goals at 2.15 with Pinnacle

The line setters always seem to hand out a gift along the way, and here is where they did it. While the Dutch side is expected to go on and take top spot in their group, New Zealand brings an extremely experienced squad to France this year.

We can expect a few bettors to peek at the +1.5 handicap line on The Ferns, but that could get tricky in a 2-1 match that could see a late goal change your fortune. Of course, if New Zealand scored that goal to make it 2-2, it would really make someone’s day. I foresee the prospects of a 3-1 or 3-2 match for these two to open group E play, so let the shootout ensue!

Group E is actually going to be a little more wide open that the experts think, and we discussed as much on the OddsMarket Show this Monday afternoon.

Canada and the Netherlands are expected to go 1-2 in group E, and the line on either to win the group is fair. The Netherlands sit at 2.10 and Canada chimes in 2.20, but yet New Zealand is being extremely disrespected by the oddsmakers. That will be motivation for sure, but I will admit that I took Canada to win group E on the show, so I will stick to my guns and offer that to you before I go.

Enjoy the games, and good luck to whomever you support at this year’s Women’s World Cup!

Related article: FIFA Women's World Cup: Guide to the Favourites
