A couple of draws in tighter games also bucked the trend of “favourites” winning but generally, things went very much the way they were expected to.

This weekend sees the second round of Bundesliga matches taking place and it’s worth taking a look at the matches and trying to identify those containing any value.

Looking at the fixture list the first game to catch my eye is the Schalke v Bayern Munich match taking place on Friday evening. Bayern had the biggest win of the opening round, scoring 6 against Werder Bremen and it’s no surprise to see the odds on a Bayern win down at around 1.29 for this one. When you check out the head to head records you could argue there is a certain amount of value even with odds as low as that. As ever though I’m going to try to eke out a tiny bit more for you which has led me to my selection for this match:

Bayern Munich To Win To Nil That’s available at 2.25 with BetVictor and William Hill which is pretty good value in my book. With a Champions League tie coming up against Rostov a few days later I don’t see Bayern going for a goal-fest in this one but Carlo Ancelotti will demand a thoroughly professional performance and that includes a clean sheet.

My second Bundesliga bet of the weekend will look for an away victory in the match between Darmstadt and Eintracht Frankfurt. Looking at the head to head records this initially seems to be a solid bet with Frankfurt having won over 66% of their previous match-ups. Head to head records do need analyzing though as that’s only over 6 matches and only 2 of those have been after the year 2000 so has little to no relevance.

Eintracht Frankfurt did win this fixture last season though and look strong enough to notch up a second straight win in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt to Win You can get that at 2.5 with William Hill which is a pretty good set of odds for this match up.

For the last of my 3 value bets this weekend I’m going for a straight away win in the RB Leipzig v Borussia Dortmund match. Leipzig have been making waves (and ruffling a few feathers) over the last few years as they move up the divisions and purchase a young team full of very promising players. This is their first season in the Bundesliga though and this is a major step up for them.

Dortmund are establish Champions League contenders and a few people's pick for this season league winners. They do have a trip to Poland for Wednesday's match against Legia Warsaw and will be looking to go into that match with a second consecutive Bundesliga win under their belts. They faced tougher opponents in the shape of Mainz last time out and came through and although this is an away game I’m putting my money on them repeating the trick.

Borussia Dortmund to Win At 1.57 these aren’t great odds but I do believe they hold some value. I could look to go further and maybe push it a little on the Asian Handicap market but I’m happy with what I’ve got and am willing to call it quits there.

So, those are my 3 Bundesliga value bets for this weekend. I’ll be happy to with 2 wins out of 3 but that is now out of my hands. What are your bets for this weekend?
