We are only two games away from the Champions League finals, which take place at the end of the month on the 29th of May in Gdansk, Poland. Can PSG overturn a 2-1 deficit against the ever resilient Manchester City and who will come out on top between Chelsea and Spanish giants Real Madrid following their 1-1 draw in the first leg.

Manchester City vs. PSG

Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 – 8pm GMT at Etihad Stadium

Manchester City have one leg in the finals following their 2-1 victory over PSG in the Stade De France last time out. This could be Man City’s first appearance in a Champions League final and history is in their favour as the previous 47 times an English team won the away first leg they advanced into the finals.

Worryingly for Mauricio Pochettino and his PSG side, Man City have won 12 of their previous 14 home games and have kept a clean sheet in 12 of their last 20 home games. Last time out PSG set a new record as they had previously gone 20 years without loosing a Champions League game when winning at half time, but that all came crumbling down as they allowed Man City to take complete control of the game in the second half, scoring twice to seal the 2-1 victory.

If things weren’t bleak enough for the French side, star striker Kylian Mbappe is likely to miss this game due to a calf injury, and should he play, he most likely wont be 100% fit. PSG head coach, Pochettino’s record against Pep Guardiola is also another worrying trend heading into this game. The two coaches have clashed 19 times with Guardiola unbeaten on 16 occasions.

We believe City are totally in control of this tie now that they return back to the Etihad, and PSG’s record at this stadium doesn’t bode well as they haven’t scored a goal in two visits. PSG need at least two goals to advance, which will leave them vulnerable to the counterattack. We like city’s odds at 1.60 to win this but you can boost this dramatically by taking City and under 4.5 goals at odds of 2.10. City wont be looking to put up a big score here, they will be happy to keep possession for 90 minutes.

Score Prediction: 2-0 / 2-1

Champions league Tip: Man City Win + U4.5 Goals at 2.10 with Bet365

Chelsea vs. Real Madrid

Wednesday, May 5th, 2021 – 8pm GMT at Stamford Bridge

This second leg is set up perfect as we have a 1-1 draw heading into Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will be confident of advancing into this years finals following an impressive display in Madrid, only allowing Madrid to one shot on Target, they also had more shots and corners than the home side on the night, and arguably could have grab the game by the neck and got themselves a 2nd away goal.

Another positive trend for the home side heading into this 2nd leg tie is the fact their new head coach, Thomas Tuchel has faced Madrid five times and not lost yet to the Spanish side, with a record of 1 win and 4 draws.

Madrid must get on the score sheet in this tie or they are out as Chelsea scored that vital away goal in the first leg. With that being said, since Zidane has been in charge of Los Blanco’s, they have progressed from a two legged tie on 11 out of 12 occasions. However its not all petals and roses as Madrid have failed to win a knockout game in England since 2013 and are yet to ever beat Chelsea in this Champions League.

Although we are predicting a 1-1 scoreline, we love the value in the second half goal line over 1.5 at odds of 2.25. We expect a cagey first half and wouldn’t be surprised to see a 0-0 at half time. This leaves us set up for Madrid pushing to score which could lead to space at the back for Chelsea to exploit. A 2-0 scoreline to the home side is not out of the question.

Score Prediction: 1-1

Champions league Tip: 2nd Half Goals Over 1.5 at 2.25 with Betfair
