Ajax scoreless in the reverse match? It won’t happen again

Chelsea vs Ajax

Tuesday, November 5, Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are on a positive trend. Despite that 2-1 defeat to Man United in the EFL Cup, Chelsea won their previous 7 matches across the Premier League and Champions League. They are playing an attacking football with Lampard doing an amazing job combining players with great experience like Willian, Azpilicueta or Jorginho with super talented young guns like Abraham, Mount, Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi. The squad looks great right now and should look even better next year when Lampard’s kindergarten will earn some European experience. We expect them to fight Leicester for a 3rd place finish in the Premier League and we also see them, with a little luck, in the Champions League quarter finals. On the other side, Ajax are one of the team we love to see in action. Despite losing some of their best players last summer, they are still one of the teams to watch. We love their attacking approach, their relaxed football and their huge attacking firepower. It’s true, they failed to score in the reverse match losing 1-0 on their turf, but we don’t expect that to repeat.

Team News

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Michy Batshuayi or Pulisic or Abraham? I would prefer Hudson-Odoi and Abraham, but I’m not Lampard. No Kante or Rudiger and they are 6 points clear off 5th-placed Arsenal? Frank Lampard is something else… He is doing miracles and we hope to see him next season when Chelsea will have the chance to transfer players. Erik ten Hag and Co. are always playing a thrilling football no matter the starting XI. Edson Alvarez could return in the starting XI with Donny van de Beek being used in a role further forward. Ajax’s top performers last season, Tadic, Neres, Ziyech, Tagliafico should not miss this match.

Betting Analysis

Yes, Chelsea won 1-0 on the road keeping a lucky clean sheet. Yes, they were lucky, but the win was well deserved. The 2 teams are equal on points at the top of the group but head-to-head matches work as a tie-breaker, that’s why Chelsea are leading the standings. Ajax are one of the best attacking sides to watch in the top European leagues and they will enter this match to revenge the defeat from the reverse fixture. They have the skills and the necessary weapons to score (at least 1 time) against Chelsea who always struggle to keep clean sheets, most of all now when they are without Kante and Rudiger. We expect an exciting match with the “Alex Classic” back in action.

Best tip for the match: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the match at 1.83 with Bet365
