After the international break we’re back again with some English Football League (EFL) action. With some tough fixtures ahead, let’s try and hunt out some winners.

Reading vs Preston North End

Saturday, October 19th at the Madejski Stadium
Football Tip: 1.5u on Preston Draw No Bet @ 1.81 [-125] with Bet365

The road ahead for Reading doesn’t look pretty. Recent form has been ugly, we’ve seen Reading hit rock bottom; dropping into the dreaded relegation zone. Club spirit hasn’t been damped; Reading fans still supported their manager last season through thick and thin, with zero talks of new management until newly appointed Mark Bowen hired himself for the job. Can Bowen handle the pressure and revive a reading side that desperately needs results (especially at home)?

Preston North End continues to impress on the pitch. It’s early in the season to predict if this current form can continue into 2020 but, Alex Neil isn’t riding his first rodeo and should be able to maintain composure throughout the squad. One point short from the top spot, Preston is sitting in 3rd position. They have exceeded board expectations and should have a huge amount of confidence when travelling to Reading this weekend.

Reading has conceded an alarming amount of goals on home turf this term. Whilst Preston holds a great record for scoring on the road, Reading’s lack of defence during the early stages of their games will be sure to cause problems. In their previous six games, Reading has lost five. Three of those games were played at home whilst Preston enters the Madejski Stadium undefeated in eight games!

The value Preston currently holds is great but, this is the EFL and we all know a shock result is around the corner, I’ll take the draw no bet market on Preston this week just to secure my money if it ends a drawn game.

Football Prediction/Tip: 1.5u on Swansea Win @ [1.81] [-125] with Bet365

Cardiff City vs Sheffield Wednesday

Friday, October 18th at Cardiff City Stadium
Betting Tip: 1u Cardiff Win @ 2.25 [+125) with Unibet

The international break is over, club football returns this Friday with Cardiff City hosting Sheffield Wednesday.

Cardiff City has been on an impressive run as of late, their home record remains unscathed and they’re just 7 points shy of 1st place. A victory at home this Friday will cut the gap between their current positions of 11th into a seat right behind the playoff spots in 7th. Cardiff has witnessed struggles on the road, home form has been near enough impeccable which should give this Sheffield Wednesday side something to worry about.

Mixed results continue at Sheffield, solid form is not something that’s been put on display within the first two months of the season. The away form for Sheffield hasn’t been a huge issue but the wins Sheffield has racked up on the road has been against teams who all sit in the lower half of the league

table. Seven wins for Sheffield this season might give a false pretence, those seven teams all sit at the bottom of the Championship table.

It would be hard to ignore the good price on Cardiff at home this Friday, the international break might be a concern because the team sent three players who’ve only just returned this week, other than that I can’t visualise Sheffield causing Cardiff problems that no other team has been able to do. Neil Warnock has done a great job thus far (in my opinion) and with four wins from five previous home games, I’ll take a stab with the Welsh side.

Football Prediction/Tip: 1u on Cardiff @ 2.25 [+125] with Unibet

The full slate of EFL bets, tips & predictions (All 1u Plays Unless Stated Otherwise)

EPL

Chelsea win & O2.5 vs Newcastle @ 1.87 [-114] with BoyleSports

Villa win vs Brighton - 0.5u @ 3.43 [+140] with Unibet

Wolves win & BTTS vs Southampton – 0.5u @ 4.20 [+320] with Coral

EFL Championship

Bristol City Draw No Bet vs Luton @ 1.95 [-105] with Coral

Derby vs Charlton - Draw - 0.5u @ 3.75 [+275] with Betway

Fulham win vs Stoke @ 2.50 [+150] with Unibet

English League One

Tranmere win vs Southend @ 1.91 [-110] with Coral

Fleetwood win vs Burton @ 2.20 [+275] with Coral

Ipswich win vs Accrington @ 2.01 [+100] with Coral
