With the EFL Christmas schedule right in front of us, it’s easy to try and fill our stockings with reckless betting. Stay disciplined with me and I promise we’ll make some X-Mas cheddar before 2020

Preston vs Luton

Saturday, December 14th at Deepdale
EFL Championship Betting Tip: Preston win & over 1.5 goals @ 2.00 [+100] with Coral

Preston resumes impressive form

Taking three points from Fulham this past Tuesday finally put an end to the awful 4-game losing streak that Preston was on. Those valuable twelve points dropped Preston down to 6th in the table, on the edge of the play-off spot. Good news is, after their impressive outing against top side Fulham all confidence should be re-installed for Alex Neil’s squad this weekend.

Boasting the most impressive home record in the division, Preston has only given up one result whilst playing on home turf. On the flipside, Luton has lost 9 from their past 11 games on the road which spells nothing but trouble for ‘The Haters’.

The resurgence for Preston has begun and who better than to continue their winning streak other than relegation zone floaters, Luton Town.

Luton continue lacklustre road trip performances

‘The Hatters’ are just 3 points outside of the relegation zone heading into Christmas with a Stoke City side on their tail who’s recent form has taken a swing; including a 3-0 win over Luton themselves. 11 away days registered for Luton so far this season but, a shameful 9 losses put them as one of the most underperforming away teams in the league. Their away form has particularly been poor in recent times; their last 6 away games have all ended in a loss.

In all honesty, nothing more was expected from Luton this season. They’re exactly where they should be but, with continuous away defeats they’ll soon be dragged into the dreaded bottom three and are at great risk of being relegated straight back to League 1.

Preston wins comfortably

Preston have won 8 of 11 games at Deepdale this season

Preston defeated Fulham mid-week (2-1)

Luton are fighting relegation, just 3 points clear

Luton have lost 6 games in a row, 9 away from home this season

When all is said and done, we have two calibres of teams here. On paper, Preston is the dominant side and should take all three points, no problem!

The Preston money-line is inviting however, I become very displeased when we aren’t offered evens or above when odd’s hunting so; I’ll be taking Luton to win combined with the goal market of 1.5.

EFL Championship Prediction/Tip: Preston win & over 1.5 goals @ [2.00] [+100] with Coral

Leeds vs Cardiff

Saturday, December 14th at Elland Road
EFL Championship Betting Tip: Leeds win & under 3.5 goals @ 2.00 [+100] with Coral

Leeds sustain ascendancy

With no surprise, Leeds United continued their Championship dominance mid-week and this past weekend by fetching another two wins and six points. In the current climate of the EFL Championship, it seems like two teams are running away with the league. An incredible 46 points earnt by both Leeds and West Brom have pitted them at the top of the table clear by 11 points.

10 games without defeat for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, that includes 8 wins and 16 goals with just two conceded in the meantime. West Brom may have been impressive but, not quite as impressive as the North Yorkshire side.

Cardiff lacking defence

We can’t deny that Cardiff City’ fortunes have turned around since hiring new boss Neil Harris but after their 4 games undefeated streak coming to an end at Brentford this week, it’s apparent that Harris’s men can’t stop the opposition from scoring.

When playing away from home, Cardiff has conceded 20 goals this season. Luton is the only side with more goals conceded on the road. On top of that, they’re the worst team in the league for registered shots on target received. These numbers are concerning, especially against a team who could be competing in the Premier League right now.

Don’t fade the Leeds train

Leeds are top of the league with 46 points

Cardiff hold some of the worst away records in the division

Leeds have conceded just 2 goals in their previous 6 games

Cardiff have conceded 20 goals away from home

Leeds was low scoring, low conceding team to start the season but have come into their own recently, they’ve registered 8 goals in their previous 3 games whilst remaining defensively sound.

Taking on a struggling away side in Cardiff should be a fun game for Leeds, I expect them to keep a clean sheet and score 2/3 goals whilst doing it.

EFL Championship Betting Tip: Leeds win & under 3.5 goals @ 2.00 [+100] with Coral

Extra Football bets, tips & predictions

EFL Championship 14.12.19

QPR wins vs Barnsley @ 2.50 [+150] with Bet365

Derby vs Millwall - draw @3.20 [+220] with Bet365

Stoke win vs Reading @ 2.05 [+105] with William Hill

EFL League 1 - 14.12.19

Oxford win vs MK Dons @ 1.95 [-105] with Coral

Shrewsbury vs Coventry - draw @ 3.30 [+230] with Bet365

Rotherham win & over 2.5 goals vs Southend @ 2.25 [+125] with Betway

EPL 14.12.19

Newcastle ‘draw no bet’ vs Burnley @ 2.87 [+187] with Paddy Power

Sheffield Utd win & over 1.5 goals @ 2.30 [+130] with Unibet

EPL 15.12.19

Wolverhampton vs Tottenham - draw @ 3.50 [+250] with Unibet

Manchester United wins & over 1.5 goals vs Everton @ 2.15 [+115] with Coral
