It’s been a beautiful week in the country of England, will the sun stick around and heat up this weekend’s EFL fixtures?

Cardiff vs Fulham

Friday, August 30, at Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff’s only success thus far has come up against weak squads in the division. A real test comes this Friday when the Welsh side plays host to Fulham. In Cardiff’s 0-0 draw against Blackburn neither side could get a look in, easily frustrated a struggle upfront for both teams was on display. Home advantage at Cardiff stadium will be a plus for Cardiff but an angry Fulham will be out for blood after their first loss of the season again Forrest.

Fulham suffered their first defeat of the season against Nottingham Forrest. Which must have been a tough pill to swallow considering they were evidently playing better football. Finishing their strong attacks was a problem and Fulham found the back of the net late on but it was too little too late. 7 minutes remained from the 90 and Fulham had a slim to nothing chance of pulling this one back.

I’ll take the positive from this Fulham loss and thank Nottingham Forrest for enraging the heavily talented Fulham locker room. We can now appreciate some slightly better odds on Fulham which would have been a lot slimmer in value given they had won the battle with Forrest.

Cardiff have been struggling and team sheets laid out in front of me, it’s obvious we’re backing Fulham to come out on top. They are away from home so let’s cover our back with another punt on the ‘Draw No Bet’ market.

Betting Tip: Fulham Draw No Bet @ 1.91 with Bet365

Birmingham City vs Stoke City

Saturday, August 31, at St. Andrews Stadium

Another week in the English Championship, another embarrassing performance by Stoke City. You probably wouldn’t have noticed that Leeds United was the away side this past weekend because Stoke gave the impression of a losing away side. Minimal opportunities in front of goal and lack of awareness in the box handed them a 0-3 loss in front of their home crowd.

This week Stoke will travel to St. Andrews stadium in Birmingham with desperation tactics on their mind. They aren’t going to lose every fixture this season but whilst they’re cold, why not run with it?

Birmingham came up short against a strong Swansea team. When we look at their away form, that result came as no surprise. ‘0The Blues’ tend to farewell at home soil and will be looking to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat similar to their opposition.

Can the midlands side take some points? To answer that, I think the current state of Stoke City football club is perfect to fade, especially away from home. Birmingham has conceded just one goal at their home ground and has scored just four goals across five games. It would make sense to believe this game will go under the total.

It’s been a mixed start to the season for ‘The Blues’. With 2 wins,1 loss and 2 draws at best I think Birmingham can take a point away from this fixture. Draw no bet for even money sounds like a safe play in my opinion.

Prediction/Tip: 1u on Birmingham City Draw No Bet @ [2.10] [+110] with Betfred

Nottingham Forrest vs Preston Norht End

Saturday, August 31, at The City Ground

Nottingham Forrest continued their barrage of goals this past weekend. Although, this time around it wasn’t expected an came as quite a shock to the system. To enter Craven Cottage and walk away with a 1-2 win has to be admired. Forrest we’re not fazed by the EPL quality side, one-touch passing and non-possession play gave Forrest the edge they needed to nip a win in the bag. Fulham held possession for majority of the game but missed their shots in front of goal, Forrest made the most of the couple chances they had and sealed the win. Quick counter-attacking from Forrest has been effective and back at home, do we see Forrest leaving goalless?... Nope!

12 goals in their last four games also put Preston on a goal-scoring pedestal. They have stayed undefeated since the opening week and should enter the City ground with a chip on their shoulder. An early penalty for Preston kick-started their road to victory against Sheffield and they didn’t stop there, a second penalty handed them a win on a plate against a Sheffield side who need to control themselves in the box.

With such a complicated game to break down if we’re looking for a winner, the intelligent move would be to scour other markets. Both clubs are entering on top form so I can visualise this game becoming a battle of will. Confidence should be high either side so, the ‘Both Teams to Score’ market is where I’ll lay my unit this week.

Prediction/Tip: 1u on Both Teams to Score @ [1.85] [-115] with William Hill

Other Bets (All 1u bets) 31.08.2019

Premier League:

Newcastle Win vs Watford @ 2.60 with 888Sport
West Ham/Norwich - Both Score No Draw @ 2.10 with William Hill
Liverpool Win & 0ver 2.5 Match Goals @ 1.91 with Coral

Championship

West Brom Win & Under 4.5 Match Goals @ 2.20 with Coral|
Sheffield Wednesday Win & Under 4.5 Match Goals @ 2.30 with Betway
Bristol Win & Under 3.5 Match Goals @ 2.80 with Coral
Leeds United Win & Over 1.5 Match Goals @ 1.87 with Coral

English League One

Wycombe & Wimbledon – Both Score No Draw @2.50 with William Hill
Rotherham Win & Under 4.5 Match Goals @ 2.05 with Blacktype
Sunderland Draw No Bet @ 1.83 with Betvictor
Ipswich Win @ 2.05 with Ladbrokes
