EFL Championship football continues to prove why it’s one of the hardest football leagues in the world to predict. No fear, DaveBets is here. Are you ready?

Nottingham Forest VS Barnsley

Saturday 21st September at The City Ground

Betting Tip: 2u on Nottingham Forest Win & Over 1.5 Goals @ 2.05 with Coral

Nottingham Forest is 10th in the EFL Championship league standings but with victories away from home against two of the best teams in the league (Fulham & Cardiff), they’re confident as they’ve ever been and could easily be a title contender if their current form continues.

You can’t argue that Forest has had one of the hardest schedules up to date. Facing teams who funnily enough are all sitting in the top 8 of the EFL Championship. After looking at their schedule ahead it seems like the fixtures become easier in competition for Forest and I like their chances to be placed near the top 5 before Christmas.

It’s hard to fight a case for Barnsley at home or away, let alone against an in-form Nottingham Forest side. With only 5 points to their name, ‘The Reds’ have a battle ahead of them this weekend when they travel to the midlands for a war with Forest at the City Ground.

To put things in perspective, Barnsley has the same amount of goals as they do points… four! Forest have only given up one loss all season and I can’t visualise Barnsley being the side to cause Forest any problems, especially when they’re away from home. Every win for Forest this season has seen over 1.5 or more so naturally we’ll be backing the win/over market to give our odds a boost.

Prediction/Tip: 2u on Nottingham Forest Win & O1.5 Goals @ [2.05] with Coral

West Brom VS Huddersfield

Saturday 21st September at The Hawthorns

Betting Tip: 2u West Brom Win & Under 4.5 Goals @ 2.05 with Betway

It’s a delightful period of the season to be a West Brom fan as they’re the only team in the EFL Championship to remain undefeated. 3 wins and 4 draws have placed West Brom 6th in the league after the first 7 weeks of action.

Huddersfield fans well, the same can’t be said for the former EPL side. Since their relegation back into the Championship, Huddersfield has struggled immensely whilst trying to adapt into lower league football. 6 losses and 1 draw was certainly not an outcome predicted by pundits, but given we’re only 7 weeks into the domestic season we’ll try and keep relegation talk at bay for the meantime.

This will be West Broms game to lose in my opinion. They have the in-form team, the home advantage, goal advantage and most importantly the momentum are currently swinging heavily in their favour. Walking away from Craven Cottage last weekend with a draw will have spirits high in the West Brom locker room and with a win at home this weekend, ‘The Baggies’ could find themselves joint second in the league standings.

The value was obviously going to be heavy in favour of West Brom this week so backing West Brom to win and under 4.5 goals will boost those low odds that are available on the money line bet.

Prediction/Tip: 2u on West Brom Win & Under 4.5 Goals @ [2.05] with Betway

Brentford VS Stoke

Saturday 21st September at Griffin Park

Betting Tip: 1u Double Chance - Stoke or Draw vs Brentford @ [2.02] with Unibet

After an abysmal start to the EFL Championship 19/20 Season, Stoke City could arguably be worth more than the 1 point shown next to their team name in the league standings. There has been a handful of unfortunate fixtures for Stoke where they could’ve walked away with the full three points.

Both managers are currently under pressure. With a higher expectation than 7 points from 7 games, the Brentford board have turned up the heat on Thomas Franks. Nathan Jones, on the other hand, has 1 point from 7 games which could make any remaining fixture his last. Does the squad respect him enough to give it their all on Saturday? Or do they roll-over knowing his demise is imminent? I think the entire squad realise that anymore points given up could be crucial in May when relegation could be upon them.

Given Brentford’s rocky performances and ultra-low scoring games. I can’t help but favour the chances of a draw. In all but one fixture, Brentford has seen under 2.5 goals in every league game this season and Stoke have struggled to find the back of the bet at the best of times.

Say what you will, but I actually find the value in Stoke. I expect a low scoring affair but on the flip side, if one side could edge the victory then Stoke would be my selection. They aren’t going to lose every game this season and for a bounce-back situation, I Feel that Brentford aren’t a bad choice to fade with their current form.

Prediction/Tip: 1u Double Chance - Stoke or Draw vs Brentford @ [2.02] with Unibet

Other Bets (All 1u Plays Unless Stated Otherwise)

Premier League:

Crystal Palace Draw No Bet vs Wolverhampton @ 2.07 with Boylesports
Norwich ‘Draw No Bet’ vs Burnley @ 2.80 with Bet Victor
Newcastle Win vs Brighton @ 2.60 with Betfair

Championship

Fulham Win vs Sheffield Wednesday @ 2.50 with Unibet
QPR Draw No Bet vs Millwall @ 2.07 with 888Sport

English League One

Tuesday

Coventry Win & Over 1.5 Goals vs Wimbledon @ 2.00 with Coral
Sunderland Win vs Rotherham @2.15 with Betfred
Wycombe Win vs Accrington @ 1.91 with Bet365
Peterborough Win vs Tranmere @ 2.00 with Bet365

Saturday

Doncaster vs Peterborough Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.84 with Bet365
Accrington vs Blackpool Over 2.5 Goals @ 1.90 with Bet365
Wycombe Draw No Bet vs Portsmouth @ 2.31 with BetVictor
