Eintracht expected to kick off their domestic season in style

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Hoffenheim

Sunday, August 18, at Commerzbank-Arena (Frankfurt)

Eintracht Frankfurt were one of the teams to watch last season. They occupied a top-four spot for long periods last term, but they failed to maintain their position and finished the season 7th in the standings. They earned a Europa League spot and they already played 2 qualifying rounds destroying teams like Vaduz and Flora. They also trashed 3rd-league side Mannheim 5-3 in the German Cup few days ago. On the other side, Hoffenheim who lost their coach this summer, failed to impress in the pre-season campaign winning just 2 of their 6 friendly matches. They needed penalties to beat 3rd-league team Wurzburger Kickers as they were kept to a 2-2 draw in regular time. They signed Ajax Amsterdam assistant coach Alfred Schreuder for this season to replace coach Julian Nagelsmsann who joined RB Leipzig.

Team News:

Eintracht were very active this summer. They sold 2 of their most important players, Luka Jovic to Real Madrid for €60m and Sebatien Haller to West Ham for €40m but they used part of the profit to bring in players with great experience in Bundesliga like Martin Hinteregger from Augsburg, Dominik Kohr from Bayern Leverkusen, Filip Kostic from Hamburger SV and Sebastian Rode from Dortmund. They are trying to invent a new Luka Jovic as they signed Red Star Belgrade’s 19-years old centre-forward Dejan Jovelic for €4m. On the other side, Hoffenheim lost 2 important strikers Joelinton who signed with Newcastle and Kerem Demirbay a player who was very constant and left the team to sign with Bayern Leverkusen. They failed to replace them with players with the same qualities and skills. Ante Rebic is now the main man in the Frankfurt attack and he will probably be joined by Paciencia and Gavinovic to complete the attacking treble. Hoffenheim’s leading scorer Kramaric is ruled-out for this match after only returning to training this week.

Betting Analysis:

The hosts have already played 5 competitive matches this season and it looks like they are not missing Jovic and Haller. They are scoring goals for fun for a 2nd season in a row and we can’t wait to see them in Bundesliga action. Hoffenheim will be without their star striker Kramaric as well as Demirbay and Joelinton (both left the team), they have a new coach, they failed to impress this summer in their friendly games and cup game so we believe they will struggle this season. It will be very difficult for them to beat an in-form Eintracht on the road. Because it’s just the 1st round of fixtures we will cover ourselves with the Draw No Bet option.

Best tip for the match: Eintracht to win with DNB at 1.8 with Unibet
