The remaining two teams have fought their way into the English Championship Playoff final, Aston Villa and Derby County battle it out for the English Premier League (EPL) third and final promotion spot.

English Championship Playoff Final (Wembley Arena)

Derby County vs Aston Villa

Monday, 27th May 15:00 pm (BST)

Another incredible season of English Championship football comes to an end as football grounds across the nation close up the stadiums for the summer break. Husbands are returned to their spouses; fathers continue to parent and Gary Lineker is nowhere to be seen. Summertime can be sad for some football maniacs so let’s bask in the remaining cup and playoff ties we have remaining.

One of the riskiest yet most fun time for bettors in football is when a cup final is played and for Aston Villa, the smell of EPL promotion has been under their nose without a single piece of cake to be eaten.

Aston Villa fell at the hands of Fulham last year in the playoff finals and no doubt that thought will be lingering in the minds heading into the game next Monday.

Derby County shouldn’t have much to boast about either, with a combined 7-0 losing aggregate score versus Aston Villa in domestic league matches this year.

Frank Lampard although a green manager in years of experience he has managed to pull his squad together to defy odd’s in the semi-final clash against Leeds United. For the first time in the history of Championship football, a side won the game after losing the first leg.

Could the number eight be the lucky number for Derby County? With a previous seven attempts in the playoff finals coming to a grinding halt, history would tell you that Derby is cursed in the playoffs. We aren’t betting on myths here so, don’t ponder on that one too much.

Villas most recent success against Derby is something we cannot ignore, on top of that their recent form overall has been way above the rest. 6th place Derby county made the biggest comeback when defeating Leeds, this time around they only have one chance and I just don’t believe that will be enough for Derby to come out on top.

Aston Villa is clearly the stronger side here, without a shadow of a doubt I believe they should come out on top in this game with the best end to a season they could ask for.

Playoff finals, in general, tend to have a lower scoring game more often than not and I have been successful with that market in these high-pressure matchups in the past. This is not one to be ignored as the previous six games played in the final have gone under the 2.5 total goals.

Whatever bets you place these forthcoming weeks just remember to enjoy the sports for what they are and don’t get all crazy on me. I’ll see you guys next season with some more English Championship action.

Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.73 – 8/11 with William Hill (1u)

Aston Villa Win & U3.5 @ - 2.90 – 15/8 with Betway (1u)

CLICK HERE FOR THE BEST AVAILABLE ODDS

Some More Football Bet’s I’m On

English League One Playoff Final

Charlton vs Sunderland – Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.85 – 17/10 with Coral (1u)

Champions League Final

Liverpool vs Tottenham Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.91 – 10/11 with Bet365 (0.5u)

Europa League Final

Arsenal vs Chelsea / Arsenal to Win @ 3.15 – 10/11 with Unibet (0.5u)

Championship Round-Up

Aston Villa Win & U3.5 @ - 2.90 – 15/8 with Betway (1u)

Villa/Derby Under 2.5 Goals @ 1.73 – 8/11 with William Hill (1u)

Full odds for this week’s English Championship Games available HERE

Some of the Best Odds for this week’s Championship games available @ Bet365

Follow Dave Bets on Twitter HERE
