With only five games remaining in the English League One domestic season, the top 5 teams are all still within grasp of clenching 1st or 2nd place. Let’s see if we can hunt some value with only five betting weeks remaining on league matchups.

Doncaster Rovers vs Plymouth Argyle

Scoring 40 goals on home soil this season, Doncaster Rovers take first place in the most goals scored at home leader board, although goals are not points and Doncaster have allowed themselves to drop behind the top five teams with a 10-points gap separating sixth place Doncaster and Fifth-placed Charlton.

Plymouth has underperformed on the road this season, and have been conceding goals at an alarming rate whilst on the road. Doncaster, on the other hand, has looked fierce at home in recent games and with another 3 points on the table, Donny could make the important sixth place position more unreachable.

Given Plymouths questionable road performances and Doncaster’s high goal output at home and decent win percentage, I see value in the Doncaster win & Over 1.5 goals.

Doncaster Win & Over 1.5 Goals @ 2.15 – 23/20 with Betway (1u)

Charlton vs Luton

With 76 points on the board, four points adrift from second place and automatic promotion is something Charlton will be fighting for. Ten league matches unbeaten, Charlton has looked almost unstoppable in their most recent outings. At home this season, Charlton have kept 40% of their games a clean sheet, but with tough competition ahead… Can Lee Bowyer's men extend the impressive ten-game hot streak to eleven?

Luton head into this weekends fixture undefeated since October, so we have two hot streaks but only one will remain intact after this match… or will it? A draw looks like it could be a huge possibility here and would give both teams another week undefeated. 0-0 or 1-1 is a possible score-line for this weekends clash and with a great value price of 3.50, I’ll take a chance with half a unit on the draw.

Both teams sit amongst the top sides in goals against statistics, very little actually separates the two in terms of defensive efficiency so expect a low scoring game here with plenty of defensive play. I do see value in the Charlton win at such a great price, but we have to take into account that Luton is unbeaten in their previous 13 away games. This is not the type of record you can ignore, so plan B offers even better value in the draw.

Charlton/Luton Draw @ 3.50 – 5/2 with Bet365 (0.5u)

Sunderland vs Coventry City

Another game with important points at stake as second place title contenders Sunderland welcome visitors Coventry City to the Stadium of Light this weekend.

Just seven points separate Sunderland and league leaders Luton Town, but with a game in hand… Sunderland could begin to ruin Luton’s title hopes with a win against Coventry. Coventry have been struggling over their past three games and the playoff spot is soon becoming a distant memory, it would have been great to see my home city of Coventry gain league promotion two years running, but after taking just two points from the previous three games, those chances are looking more and more out of grasp especially if Doncaster can get the three points on Saturday.

Not only do Coventry have the tough task ahead of trying to clinch a playoff spot, but they could also potentially face automatic relegation from League One due to a rule break regarding their home ground status and where the club would play their future games. Without a final decision given by April 2nd, the EFL board warned Coventry that if they don’t deliver a satisfying solution by April 25th, the clubs expulsion from the league would be considered.

I don’t bet with emotions so backing against my home town doesn’t affect me personally. I think Sunderland will be out to win the league title and defeat Coventry 2-1.

Sunderland Win & Over 1.5 Goals @ 2.25 – 5/4 with Betway (1u)

Full odds for this week’s English League One matches available HERE

Some of the Best Odds for this week’s League One games available @ Betway
