Getafe are in excellent form...

Getafe vs Valladolid

Sunday, December 15, at Coliseum Alfonso Perez

Getafe have been on an upward curve in recent weeks and Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Eibar saw them climb up to fifth in the table. That is precisely where the finished last term, and Jose Bordelas’ men are proving that they are not one-season wonders. They made a somewhat shaky start to the current campaign, but they are now unbeaten in six matches, with four wins and two draws, and soaring up the table. Valladolid are going in the opposite direction after losing three of their last six matches, and a home win looks likely on Sunday.

Team News

Getafe have a midweek Europa League game against Krasnodar to contend with, so fatigue could be an issue. However, it is at home and they will have three days to recover. Bordelas has effectively rotated his forward line this season. Hugo Duro partnered Jaime Mata in attack during the 1-0 win against Eibar on Sunday, with top scorer Angel Rodriguez and Jorge Molina on the bench. All four men are dangerous and that means playing a high volume of games should not impact upon Getafe’s ability to score goals. They have also been solid at the back, conceding just two goals in their last six games, which bodes well for the visit of Valladolid on Sunday.

Los Pucelanos have the fourth lowest goals tally in La Liga this season. Top scorers Sergi Guardiola and Oscar Plano have managed three apiece, while forward Sandro has only scored once. They are not particularly solid at the back either. They drew 0-0 away with Celta Vigo last time out, but they have conceded 15 goals in nine away games thus far this season. They have no real injury problems to worry about, but there is distinct room for improvement at both ends of the pitch.

Betting Analysis

Getafe beat Valladolid 1-0 at Coliseum Alfonso Perez last season. They have not lost to Los Pucelanos here in more than a decade, and they should be able to grind out a victory in this game. Their recent form has been terrific, whereas Valladolid have been underwhelming. The odds on a straight win for the home team are compelling enough, but you can gain more value by combining it with a goals market. Valladolid games see an average of two goals, which is the third lowest tally in the league, whereas Getafe games see an average of 2.5 goals.

Tip: Getafe to win and under 4.5 goals at 1.80 (4/5) with Coral
