The Spanish La Liga is returning after three weeks of break with some great matches. With 3 points above Barcelona and a game in hand, Real Madrid will play against Granada. The question is how many goals difference will Real Madrid win the game? Both, Barcelona and Sevilla (2nd and 3rd in the standings) will travel to Villarreal and Real Sociedad respectively and will try to maintain their positions in the table. Will they be able to start the year in style? Let’s find out the best values for round 17:

Eibar vs. Atletico Madrid Eibar are a decent squad, and with the 3rd consecutive season in La Liga they look like an experienced team. With only one loss on their turf, they are expecting at least a draw from this contest. With a poor season so far, Atletico Madrid will try to bounce back and start the new year with a win. They are only 5 points above Eibar, but they are the better side and they can comfortably win this game and show us that their performance can improve and that “the season” so far was a mistake. A victory will count a lot for Diego Simeone’s players. Even if they feel under pressure, the match against Eibar is a must-win for them. My tips for this match are: Atletico Madrid to win at 1.7 with Unibet; Atletico Madrid to win half-time/full-time at 2.6 with Bet365.

Villarreal vs. Barcelona The most important match of the round will be played between The Yellow Submarine (4th place in La Liga) and Barcelona (2nd place in the standings). After 16 rounds, Villarreal have the best defense in the Spanish La Liga, with only 11 goals conceded. From the other side, Barcelona have the best attack with 41 goals scored. So what should we expect from this match? If the trio Messi-Neymar-Suarez will be on a great form that day we will see an away win and a lot of goals. Heading into this match, Villarreal have injury problems, with key players missing this clash (Bakambu, Soldado, Castillejo). In the last 5 head-to-head games we saw at least 3 goals per game, with Barcelona winning 4 times. The Blaugrana should deliver positive results from now on and should try to close the gap between them and Real Madrid. Also, let’s not forget that Barcelona have not lost to Villarreal since 2008. Top Tips for this match: Barcelona to win with -1 Asian Handicap at 1.87 with Bet Victor; Barcelona to win and over 2.5 goals in the match at 1.9 with Bet365.

Celta Vigo vs. Malaga Celta Vigo are a big force when they are playing at home. They managed to win against Barcelona and Valencia, but at the moment they can’t seem to find their rhythm, with only 1 point won in the last 3 games. From the other side, Malaga, with no victory on the road so far, seem to be the dark horse in this match. Malaga haven't been in good form recently and they haven't won since November 2016 when they defeated Deportivo La Coruna (4-3). If we follow the trend the bet for this game will be the under 2.5 goals priced right now really high at 2.05 with Bet Victor. I believe that Celta Vigo can get the job done, so my top tip for this match is: Celta Vigo to win the match at 1.91 with Unibet.

Extra Tips: Real Sociedad vs. Sevilla – Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in the match at 2.1 with Bet365

Espanyol vs. Deportivo La Coruna – Both teams to score at 2.1 with Betfair
