We are approaching the final few weeks of the Ligue 1 season and the relegation battle is really heating up.

Guingamp v Caen

Date: Saturday, May 4, at 7pm

Venue: Stade du Roudourou

Caen are making a desperate late bid for survival and they have won two games in a row to climb up to 18th in the table. First they beat Nice 1-0 and then picked up another 1-0 victory over relegation rivals Dijon. They are now hunting down Monaco and Amiens, and they have given themselves a decent chance of beating the drop. They should fancy their chances of maintaining their winning streak against Guingamp, who sit bottom of the table after taking just two points from their last five games. They are now well adrift and looking doomed, so their heads might drop for this game. Caen have not lost to Guingamp in seven games, so they should be good for a result in this game.

Tip: Caen-draw double chance at 21/20 (2.05) with Bet365

Montpellier v Amiens

Date: Sunday, May 5, at 1pm

Venue: La Mosson

Montpellier have won four of their last five games and they are now up to sixth in the table. Their home form has improved significantly in recent weeks and they have secured victory in their last three matches at La Mosson. A 3-2 win against champions PSG on Tuesday night should have emboldened them further and that will give them confidence in their ability to topple Amiens. Christophe Pélissier’s men are making a decent stab of their survival bid: they have drawn four and lost one of their last five games, leaving them four points clear of 18th placed Caen. They are a tough nut to crack, but Montpellier are in good goalscoring form and should win this one.

Tip: Montpellier to win at 5/6 (1.83) with Bet365

Nantes v Dijon

Date: Sunday, May 5, at 1pm

Venue: Stade de la Beaujoire

Dijon are another team making a decent fist of their bid to avoid relegation and there is now a great deal of intrigue at the foot of the table. They have two wins and a draw in their last five games and that has seen them overtaken bottom club Guingamp. They are one point behind Caen, four behind Monaco and five behind Amiens, with 12 left to play for. However, they have the unenviable task of taking on in-form Nantes at the weekend. Nantes have won four on the bounce and that includes victories over PSG, Lyon and Marseille, all teams in the top five. They have hit ten goals in that time and conceded in each match too.

Tips: Nantes to win at 19/20 (1.95) with Betfair
Both teams to score at even money (2.0) with Bet365
Nantes to win and both teams to score at 7/2 (4.50) with Bet365

Monaco v St Etienne

Date: Sunday, May 5, at 3pm

Venue: Stade Louis II

St Etienne are the form team of Ligue 1, with five wins and a draw from their last six games. That has catapulted them into the top four and they are now hunting down third placed Lyon. Remi Cabella and Wahbi Khazri are in fine form up front, and they have now kept three clean sheets in a row. This is a very difficult assignment for relegation threatened Monaco, who have improved since Leonardo Jardim returned to the club, but whose form remains patchy.

Tip: St Etienne draw no bet at 11/10 (2.10) with Bet365

Lyon v Lille

Date: Sunday, May 5, at 7pm

Venue: Parc Olympique Lyonnais

Lyon have returned to form in recent weeks, winning two in a row to cling onto third place. They remain six points behind Lille, but they could have that deficit with victory at Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday. That will be easier said than done. Lille are unbeaten in five games and they put five goals past both PSG and Nimes during that run. Nicolas Pepe and Loic Remy have the pace, flair and finishing ability to hurt Lyon and this should be a cracking game.

Tip: Both teams to score at 8/13 (1.62) with William Hill
