An exciting Serie A season rumbles on, with almighty battles shaping up at both ends of the table. Roma and AC Milan are piling the pressure on table toppers Juventus and face one another in the pick of the weekend’s games, while Palermo, Pescara and Crotone are fighting for survival in the relegation zone. There are several exciting clashes set to take place this weekend, and here we have rounded up some of the best:

[embed][/embed]

Crotone v Pescara

Two of the worst teams in Serie A do battle in a crucial six pointer on Saturday. Both have lost four and drawn one of their last five matches. Crotone are 19th, with six points from 15 games, and Pescara are 18th with eight points. Both have struggled to find the net this season, with fewer than a goal per game each, so the under 2.5 goals looks interesting at 1.95 with Bet365.

Atalanta v Udinese

Atalanta’s long an impressive winning run came to a halt last weekend as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against the mighty Juventus, but they have a great opportunity to bounce back to winning ways with a home fixture against 14th placed Udinese. The Juventus result aside, Atalanta are in superb form and are still sixth in the table, behind fourth placed Napoli on goal difference alone, and just four points behind Roma in second. Udinese battled to a 1-0 win over Bologna last time out, but that was their first win in five, and Atalanta should be confident of securing a home win. Odds of 1.80 with William Hill look very attractive.

Torino v Juventus

Torino have been impressive this season, but a 2-0 defeat to Sampdoria last time out will have hit their confidence. Juventus have been imperious in 80% of their games, comfortably winning 12 out of 15 in majestic fashion, but they have suffered three freak defeats that might set alarm bells ringing among bettors. The defeats have been pretty well spread out, however, and they recovered from losing 3-1 to Genoa a fortnight ago with an emphatic win over in-form Atalanta last time out, suggesting they are set to embark on another winning run. Their mean defence has conceded fewer than a goal per game and they have scored 32 in 15, so they should have too much at either end of the pitch for a spirited but limited Torino, and odds of 1.91 on a Juventus win with Boylesports look too good to ignore, particularly when you consider that Juventus easily beat Torino home and away last season.

Fiorentina v Sassuolo

Fiorentina ended a two-game losing streak by beating relegation-threatened Palermo 2-1 in their last game, to send them eighth in the table. They are six points ahead of a Sassuolo side struggling to recapture the swagger they played with last season and can extend the gap with a home win here. The odds aren’t all that attractive – 1.66 is the best price available – but Fiorentina and over 1.5 goals looks a good bet at 1.95 with Bet Stars, as the last six games of each of these teams have seen over 1.5 goals.

Roma v AC Milan

The powers in charge of scheduling have saved the best for last as second play third on Monday night. These two are level on points and have been equally impressive this season, and they look the most likely contenders to give Juve a run for their money as Napoli are not quite at the races. It could prove a tight game, but Roma look the most likely to win it thanks to their fearsome attack, which has yielded more goals than any other team this season (eight more than Milan). They were highly impressive in beating city rivals Lazio last weekend and will be full of confidence. The bookies agree and have Roma odds-on, while Milan are out at 5.50, so to get more value you could again go for a match result and over 1.5 goals, which will get you 1.90 at Bet Stars. The best bet on Roma this season has been a Roma win and over 2.5 goals as it has paid off far more often than not thanks to their impressive attack and slightly leaky defence, and that would get you 2.40 with Paddy Power here, but that 2-0 win over Lazio might make you err on the side of caution, particularly as Milan have a strong defence.
