Inter eager to make it 6 in a row and secure top spot

Sampdoria vs Inter Milan

Saturday, September 28, at Stadio Luigi Ferraris (Genoa)

Inter Milan won their 5th match in a row beating Lazio 1-0 on their turf and securing their leading position in the Italian top-flight league. They have best defence in their domestic league this season conceding just 1 goal in 5 matches, keeping 4 clean sheets in the process. On the other side, Sampdoria picked up just 3 points so far beating Torino 1-0 in front of their fans. They are now sitting last in the standings having the joint worst defence in the league with 11 goals conceded in 5 matches. They clearly dominated the 2nd half against Fiorentina on Wednesday having 84% possession but unfortunately for them and for their fans they failed to overcome Fiorentina’s 2-goal lead. More than that, they lost their newly transferred defender Jeison Murillo who was red card 53 minutes in the game and will miss the home clash against Inter Milan.

Team News

Inter’s Diego Godin is a beast. He finally came back from injury playing in the last 2 matches for his new club and showing why he’s considered one of the best defenders in the world. Inter’s goalkeeper Samir Handanovic is enjoying a superb season with 4 clean sheets in 4 matches and many brilliant saves. Great news for Inter is that not just their strikers are scoring but also their midfielders. We expect Alexis Sanchez to be used more in the next games as he only played 20 minutes this season. Inter have a great attacking firepower and I’m not necessarily referring to Romelu Lukaku. Matteo Politano, Stefano Sensi and Lautaro Martinez are 3 young and high-class players who can change the face of the game in minutes. Every time they played, they showed great qualities (minus the Champions League match against Slavia Prague, which we believe, it was a mistake). On the other side, Sampdoria have no attacking quality at the moment. Fabio Quagliarella, who was top-scorer in Serie A last season, is struggling to find his top shape. He was benched against Torino so he will probably feature in the starting XI against Inter Milan.

Betting Analysis

Despite playing on the road, Inter Milan are huge favourites to win this match being priced at 1.6 with Bet365. That’s absolutely normal 1st if we look where both teams are on the table, if we consider their results this season (statistically speaking) but also their quality all over the pitch. Inter enter this match on the back of 5 Serie A wins in a row while Sampdoria recorded 4 defeats in 5 matches. It will be really tough for Sampdoria to find the back of the net against Inter’s rock-solid defence but also because they are struggling to contribute on the scoreboard with their strikers being out of shape. Inter should get the job done but for more value we will combine the “winners-market” with the “goals-market” because we don’t see a high-scoring affair.

Best tip for the match: Inter to win and under 4.5 goals in the match at 2.05 with Coral
