Serie A seems to be undergoing a bit of a revival and I, for one, am happy to see it. Here are three bets that stand a really good chance of making a profit this weekend.

For those of you old enough to remember it, Serie A used to be the top league in Europe. All the top players wanted to go there and you couldn’t really say you were a world class player without showing what you could be in Italy.

Times have changed and a lot of Serie A’s shine has been rubbed off with various scandals. Money plays a part as well and Serie A clubs are no longer the big dogs when it comes to paying out wages. Well, almost all. There is, of course, one obvious exception.

I do think Serie A is on its way back though. There is some way to go but games are becoming increasingly interesting and there are some excellent players in the league as well. Of course, it helps when we can make some profitable betting selections and that’s just what I’m aiming to do here.

I’ve got 3 games for you this week and the first is played on Saturday at 19.30 and is one of the bigger matches of the weekend’s fixture list.

Atalanta welcome AC Milan to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia and a lot of people will be expecting to see a home win in this one. Atalanta have not shown their best at home in the league this season and I feel they could struggle in this one as well. AC Milan have made a very wise purchase of Krzysztof Piatek and he looks very likely to score the goals that will see AC Milan move back up the table. Atalanta have their own goalscorer in the shape of Duval Zapata and this could be a really good game but the stats indicate a good chance of an away win here and the odds have some value in them.

I’m backing AC Milan at odds of 3.9 with BetVictor.

Let’s move on to Sunday for my next two bets. I’ll start with Fiorentina and their visit to Spal. This one is a simple choice for me. Fiorentina are a decent enough side but Spal really are not. In other Serie A seasons we may be seeing a side like this at the bottom of the league and if they played all of their matches at home, they would be in the bottom 3 as their home form is abysmal.

Fiorentina are no great shakes away from home but they should have enough about them here and at odds of 2.32 with Pinnacle, I’m prepared to take that risk.

My last bet is on the Udinese v Chievo game here and looks to be a fairly straight forward choice. Chievo are very poor, worse on the road and are going down this season. Udinese are not a great side but if they can’t get three points against this lot, they should go down too.

Take the 1.82 offered by Pinnacle on the home side.

My Bets

AC Milan to win away against Atalanta – 3.9 with BetVictor

Fiorentina to win away against Spal – 2.32 with Ladbrokes

Udinese to win at home against Chievo – 1.82 with William Hill
