Sevilla will aim to maintain their strong run of form...

They have always been strong at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in recent years, but their away form has let them down. Fans will now hope they have turned a corner, but they will also be eagerly anticipating the first home clash of the season. Celta Vigo battled relegation last term and narrowly beat the drop, but they should be a little more comfortable this time around. A strong 1-0 victory over Valencia last time out should inspire confidence.

Team News

Sevilla pulled off a real coup when they brought Monchi back to the club earlier this year. He presided over an intriguing summer transfer window, which saw the club invest around €150 million in new talent. They jettisoned star players like Wissam ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia out of the club, and brought in exciting youngsters like Jules Koundé, Rony Lopes and Lucas Ocampos. Luuk de Jong joined from PSV Einhoven and he has led the line, while Ocampos slotting into midfield alongside Ever Banega, Nolito and new arrival Joan Jordan. Sevilla have looked solid so far, and there is healthy competition for places.

Celta Vigo sold Maxi Gomez to Valencia in the summer, leaving them even more reliant on star striker Iago Aspas. He was powerless to prevent a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in their opener, but Celta Vigo battled to a fine 1-0 win against Valencia at the weekend. Denis Suarez joined from Barcelona, following an uninspiring loan spell at Arsenal, and he has gone straight into the midfield, but otherwise it is pretty much the same team that finished 17th, one place above the drop zone, last season.

Betting Analysis

Celta Vigo are the 1.50 (1/2) favourites with Bet365 to win this game and that is understandable. Celta Vigo struggled on their visit to the Bernebeu, and they do not travel particularly well. Sevilla have won the last two meetings between the clubs at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, both of them by a scoreline of 2-1. A similar result looks likely in this game, as Sevilla have the quality to scrape a narrow victory, although Aspas will cause them a few problems.

Tip: Sevilla to win and under 4.5 goals at 2.00 (evens) with Coral
