With the knockout stages of the Champions League set to kick off in a little over a weeks’ time, we preview some of the best Outright bets for the remainder of the tournament.

Champions League Outright Winner

The quality of teams remaining in this year's tournament is at a very high level, and there is some decent value to be had on a lot of teams. We will break down the most likely teams to win the UCL and also have a look at a few big odds outsiders who could give you a run for your money.

We have many potential champions in this year's edition of the Champions League. So, we are only going to take a look at what we believe to be the most likely champions with some value, we have left out the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool, for obvious reasons, neither team represents decent odds.

Liverpool is currently 7.0 and Munich is 3.75, Munich is still a powerhouse, but they have been a little unpredictable this season. Liverpool is also nowhere near the team that won the league last year. These two clubs are not playing their best football right now, yet they are 1st and 3rd favorite to win it all, respectively. There is better value to be found elsewhere.

Likely Champions Worth Betting

Manchester City

Second favorites Man City have started to come into hot form recently with 14 wins in a row in all competitions, which has seen them climb to the top of the Premier League. They have been trying to win this trophy for many years now, and this is arguably their worst team in all of those years, yet they find themselves winning games without star striker Sergio Aguero (who is out with an injury for the next few weeks at least).

Ferran Torres is their top scorer in the Champions League with 4 goals. Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus, and Raheem Sterling have all netted just 1 goal so far in this year's tournament. We fully expect those three to combine for a lot more in the knockout stages of the tournament.

They have solidified their defense and have only conceded a goal in 4 of the 14 game winning streak. Their odds at 4.75 are very reasonable, and on their day, they can beat any team in this tournament with their skillful players and world-class tactics from coach Pep Guardiola. They do face a difficult first knockout game against a feisty Borussia Monchengladbach team, and this will no doubt be a very difficult game to win over two legs.

They are already playing with a ton of confidence and have really gelled as a team over the past few weeks. Should they see off Gladbach, we believe they should kick on and make a good attempt at being crowned the Champions.

UCL Outright Pick: Manchester City at 4.75 with Bet365 (visit our Bet365 Review)

Atletico Madrid

You will not get better value right now in the Champions League outright market than current La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid. They are leading the league in Spain by a whopping 7 points with two games in hand.

Diego Simeone has a very strong record in the Champions League with Atletico, here is their tournament knockout stages since Simeone took over as coach:

2014 - Final

2015 - Quarter-Final

2016 - Final

2017 - Semi-Final

2018 - Group Stage

2019 - Last 16

2020 - Quarter-Final

They also won the Europa League in 2012 and 2018. As you can see the furthest, they have made it in recent years was the quarter-final last season. The edition of 34 year old Luis Suarez has done wonders for them this season, he has netted 14 goals in 16 games in all competitions, and he is going to be instrumental in their run to the final.

We know defensively they can keep the best of teams out on their day, if Suarez and Co. can find some goals then Atletico is a great bet at 17.00 to win this year's tournament. Every soccer fan with a team left in this tournament does not want to face Atletico, even in defeat they are a hard nut to crack.

The reason for their odds being slightly high at 17.00 is the fact they face Chelsea in the last 16. We believe they will beat the English team over two legs. Chelsea has just recently sacked their manager, and the new coach Thomas Tuchel doesn’t even know his best team yet.

UCL Outright Pick: Atletico Madrid at 17.00 with 888Sport (visit our 888Sport Review)

Value Selections

Atalanta

Atalanta have started to find some form recently in the Italian Seria A, and they do have a difficulty matchup in the round of 16 against an average Real Madrid team. Atalanta has the ability to go deep in this year's tournament, and at 41.00 they are worth a small play to be outright winners. As is the case with all our value selections, if they make it to the semi-finals at least you will be able to hedge your bets for a significant profit.

Free UCL Outright Pick: Atalanta at 41.00 with Paddy Power (visit our Paddy Power Review)

Sevilla

The notoriously hard to beat Sevilla is way overpriced at 51.00 to win this years tournament. They have been crowned Europa League champions in 5 of the past 8 seasons and have beat many world class teams in the finals, including Liverpool and Inter Milan. They have only lost 1 game from their previous 16, and they will fancy their chances against a mediocre Borussia Dortmund side in the last 16.

Free UCL Outright Pick: Sevilla at 51.00 with Betway (visit our Betway Review)

Borussia Monchengladbach

Although we do think Man City beats them in the last 16, Gladbach is a strong team. They proved that in the group stages advancing from a difficult group with Shakhtar Donetsk, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan. Gladbach can make it difficult for their rival teams and will have no problem winning games big scoreline games like 4-3. At Champions league odds of 151.00, they might be worth a small play. Should they beat Man City they will be dangerous. They already beat Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga this season.

Free UCL Outright Pick: Borussia Monchengladbach at 151.00 with Betfair (visit our Betfair Review)
