Inter aiming to maintain pressure on Juventus...

Torino vs Inter Milan

Saturday, November 23, at Olimpico di Torino

Torino have made a stuttering start to their 2019/20 campaign and they have already suffered six defeats in 12 league games. They ended a six-game winless streak by beating Brescia 4-0 before the international break, but Brescia are bottom of the table and they had a man sent off in the first half. They lost 1-0 at home to Juventus in their previous game, and Inter will be determined to secure a similar result on Saturday. Antonio Conte’s men have made a blistering start to the season and they are just one point behind Juve after winning 10 of their first 12 games. They look like genuine title contenders, but they need to win games like this if they are to topple the Bianconeri.

Team News

Torino striker Andrea Belotti is one of the most talented players in Italy and he has already banged in seven goals this season. He hit a brace against Brescia and he was then on target for the national team in their 3-0 win over Bosnia, so he should be full of confidence right now. Winger Iago Falque, forward Simone Zaza and midfielder Daniele Baselli have all been out injured for Torino, which is a blow. Nicolas N’Koulou and Armando Izzo are excellent centre-backs, but Torino have played with a back three and they never look particularly solid, while Belotti has not been afforded enough support in attack.

New man Romelu Lukaku has scored nine goals since moving from Man Utd to Inter in the summer. He has played well, but even more hype surrounds strike partner Lautaro Marinez, ensuring that Mauro Icardi has not been missed. Alexis Sanchez is out injured along with Matteo Politano, but Martinez has been in excellent form. Stefano Sensi looks like a quality player, but he faces stern competition for a midfield place from Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino and Nicolo Barella. Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij are top centre-backs, meaning the legendary Diego Godin often has to content himself with a place on the bench.

Betting Analysis

Inter have improved tremendously under Conte and they look really formidable right now. It is always difficult to regain momentum after an international break, but they should be able to edge this one. It is more than three years since they beat Torino, but they now have a great opportunity to end that trend. Their hosts have struggled at both ends of the pitch so far this season, while Inter should also win the midfield battle, so the odds on an away win look enticing.

Tip: Inter to win and under 4.5 goals at 2.15 (23/20) with Coral
