The 2019 Women’s World Cup has the opening round of group stage in the books, so it is now time to look ahead to round 2.

Norway will give France a much better test than they saw from the South Koreans to open group play, and they both should be able to find the back of the net to make this match worth watching. Norway eased past Nigeria with a comfy 3 - 0 win, and hopefully that will give them some confidence to take on the home co-favorites to win the event..

We discussed the +1.5 with Norway on the air as well, and that makes sense being that we can expect a 2 - 1 match to take place. That play is worth the look with a reasonable line attached to the action, although I think the BTTS and total are where the money will be found.

Group C -

Australia vs. Brazil

Brazil with DNB at 2.40 with Pinnacle

Everyone was down on Brazil because their results leading up to the competition were dismal, but Cristiana sure put an end to that chatter with her hat trick to open group stage play against Jamaica. The last thing the Brazilians want to do is let those 3 points be followed up with a flop, and they damn well know that Australia is favored over them

Obviously, Australia were favored over Italy to open their World Cup ledger too, and the 2 - 1 upset win for the Italians was among the surprises we have seen in France at +500.

I expect Brazil to compete and find their way to a point in the least, as the DNB provides the safety net should the draw come. I simply wasn’t impressed enough by the Australians to think they deserve to be favored again, so I digress and think dog with a lovely 2.40 on Brazil to keep playing well.

Group D -

Japan vs. Scotland

Scotland +1 Handicap at 1.80 with Pinnacle

England vs. Argentina

England -1 1st Half Handicap at 1.80 with Bet365

Even though England could have surely pulled away from Scotland, the bottom line is that a 2 - 1 result should give Scotland some confidence going forward. I also hope that Scotland learned something from their opening match, because they better sure up their back line if they plan on moving on past group stage.

Japan didn’t exactly look like a team that should be strongly favored over anyone in this event, and to see a +1 on a European team in France suits me just fine. Japan is in no way, shape, or form going to beat Scotland by 2 goals, and even if we have to settle for the voided bet in a 1-goal game than so be it.

Finally, England and their -1 handicap looks reasonable to me, being that they left plenty of opportunities on the pitch, as mentioned.

England will likely come out looking to make sure they don’t let Argentina think they can compete with them, because in all honesty, Argentina simply will not be a threat to any European team in this event. Natalie brought up if there should be concern for England after the 2 - 1 disappointment against Scotland, but that’s some rivalry stuff and this is the match that England can break out and put it all together quite easily. Expect a 2 - 0 halftime lead for England, and a cashed ticket after 45 minutes of play.
