The end of the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit is upon us. Will Secret continue their reign?

This calendar of Dota has been dominated by two teams; Secret and Virtus Pro. These teams have cumulatively taken three of the four major titles and were runners up three other occasions. It is never 'wrong' to take them at a decent price for these international tournaments, but keep in mind there will be MANY hungry teams in desperate need of DPC points this weekend in Moscow.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

The #EPICENTER Major starts on 22 June and we're glad to announce the groups🔥

A: @teamsecret @FNATIC @paiNGamingBR @RNGRoyal
B: @EvilGeniuses @TeamLiquid @Infamous_GG @GambitEsports
C: @virtuspro @theAllianceGG @goFORWARDgg @VICI
D: @LGDgaming @OGesports @NiPGaming @TNCPredator ;/a>
— EPICENTER (@epicentergg) 17 de junho de 2019
\n"}[/]

Alright a little context to start. There are four remaining direct invitations up for grabs to The International 9. Of the sixteen teams attending, eight are still seeking one of those spots. The eight teams (in order of DPC standings) are; OG, TNC, Alliance, Gambit, Forward, Pain, RNG, and Infamous. The further a team goes at a major, the more points they secure. Getting to the final eight will (almost) guarantee all eight of these a direct invite depending on the others in this group do. Teams like RNG and Infamous, who currently have under 100 pts, will need to finish top six in most scenarios.

The format for the tournament will be four GSL-style groups. However instead of the third and fourth place in each group being eliminated, they will move to the lower-bracket of the playoffs. As always, the lower-bracket gives each team only one 'life', so there is considerable incentive to finish in the top two of your group.

Outrights:

At the last major I went with two of the top six teams who were both sitting much higher than they should have been; LGD and Liquid. This time around the two teams that should be much closer to Secret in price are Evil Geniuses and Virtus Pro. I had Secret at Birmingham and they cashed, but were pushed to the limit several times. As much I believe they're deserving of their price here both EG and VP are certainly undervalued; we should be seeing them in that 4.0 – 5.0 range.

I am playing the following:

To Reach the Final

Virtus Pro @ 3.5 [Bet365]

Evil Geniuses @ 3.25 [Bet365]

To Win Outright

Virtus Pro @ 7.17 [Pinnacle]

Evil Geniuses @ 6.5 [Bet365]

As always if other teams begin to look superior and more worthy of a lower-bracket run, I won't hesitate to jump on them. Will once again have a range of proposition wagers going this tournament; get in touch with me if you'd like to discuss them [@lockeqwerty]!
