Cheltenham Festival 2020: Al Boum Photo And Altior Among The Early Favourites

Bookmakers have wasted no time in releasing antepost odds for next year's Cheltenham Festival and the 2019 victors all feature prominently.

<p>Al Boum Photo has been installed as the 8/1 favourite to win the 2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup after his superb victory this year. All the hype surrounded favourite Presenting Percy, defending champion Native River and King George victor Clan Des Obeaux in the build up to the race. Al Boum Photo flew under the radar, but then he produced a stirring performance to get the better of Anibale Fly and Bristol De Mai when it counted. He is now the 8/1 favourite with <a href=";a=bf7f64f4-cd67-4904-9b00-6ded1d41fd18" title="Bet365">Bet365</a> to defend his crown in 2019, with Presenting Percy and Clan Des Obeaux out at 12/1.</p><p>Altior won the Queen Mother Champion Chase for the second year running earlier in the festival and he is the 3/1 favourite with <a href=";a=a710bfac-73c1-4a57-b441-2caf1b9f397b" title="William Hill">William Hill</a> to make it a hat-trick in 2019. He extended his winning streak to 18 races when he romped to victory this week, equalling the all time record set by Big Buck’s. He is already assured of legendary status, but that would ramp up enormously if he were to win a third Champion Chase next year. Duc Des Genievres is seen as his biggest rival in the early betting, with odds of 12/1.</p><p>Altior’s stablemate Buveur D’Air could not win a third straight Champion Hurdle this year as he fell. Espoir D’Allen seized the initiative and clinched victory, and he is the 7/1 favourite to win it again next year, with Buveur D’Air out at 8/1 and another 2019 festival winner, Klassical Dream, priced at 12/1. Paisley Park completed a fairy-tale rise to prominence by winning the Stayers’ Hurdle this week and his is the 5/1 favourite to win it again in 2020. Klassical Dream and Laurina are 8/1 joint favourites to win the Arkle next year.</p>
