Two teams stand apart from the rest at this boutique tournament in Gdynia!

Introduction:

The smaller circuit of CS tournaments continues this weekend as we head to Poland for Games Clash Masters. Depending on how actively you follow the professional scene, you may be familiar with one or two organisations or the whole field. Coming to town are no teams in the top 10, but several in the top 30 that have been regular features of the qualifiers and online European leagues. After a nice stretch this summer, Furia comes in as the top ranked team. That said the outrights have them priced slightly behind Berlin International Gaming. BIG saw legend of the German CS community, and their long time IGL, Gobb retire last month. They have since gone on an absolute tear with their new roster winning 12 of their past 13 maps. Through September they have won 9 straight and covered the match and map spread about every damn time! While you could say this is impressive, you might also say that they are simply playing to their potential.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

The stage is rising in Gdynia Arena.
We are ready for all CS:GO team, we are ready for the heroes of the tournament!
Watch their fight 20th-22nd of September!#esportwave pic.twitter.com/mTPjRwkpM6
— Games Clash Masters (@gamesclashpro) September 18, 2019
"}[/]

Big and Furia are justifiably the favorites heading into this tournament but, just as they play live dog to many in the top 10, so to are they susceptible to some of the lesser teams attending in Poland. Additionally, they will be facing off against each other in their opening match of the tournament on Friday morning. Instead of taking Big (moneyline) against the Brazilians, I have tried to squeeze a bit more value out of the play by taking Big to win Group B. The key is to estimate the times that Big beats Furia but loses to either Ago or Illuminar in the decider. The same can be said if you opt to take Furia instead. An additional point of value is that the decider match is best-of-three. We know Big have a five-map pool currently, with Vertigo and Nuke having no current data. Their perma-ban seems to be Vtg, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're good or bad with Nuke – we just don't know.

As it's a smaller tournament, at the time of writing this, not all places have match lines up yet. These are good value below, but I've only taken the outrights so far. Will wait till every book posts them first!

Matches:

-Ago (ml) v Illuminar @ 2.30 [Betway]

-Aristocracy (ml) v Sprout @ 2.37 [Bet365]

Outrights:

-Big to win group B @ 2.0 [Bet365]

-Dreameaters to win group A @ 3.5 [Bet365]

One of the more interesting teams, at least in my view, is Syman. The last time we saw them they were playing the ace map at 2-2 against Avangar. That's right, they were one map from eliminating the eventual major finalists. The day before that, they 2-0'd Furia as a big underdog. This team is rife with potential, but interestingly you'll be hard-pressed to bet on it! Due to illegitimate and/or suspicious line movements, most of the mainstream bookmakers have taken Syman matches off the board even dating back to the Major Qualifier. Syman and Dreameaters have had some very tight battles, the amount of map points DE have choked on is staggering. As always with these CIS underdogs, we never can tell if their major performances are a 'one-off' or not. Enjoy this smallish lan, next week we have ESL One New York!
