Ence and G2 with value all at the CSGO IEM Chicago.

This is the final big tournament before the player break prior to the Berlin Major at the end of August. With only two exceptions, the teams here have already secured their spot next month so they can go into this one as official practice that many other Berlin teams won't get. Liquid is unsurprisingly the heavy favourites here after what some would say has been a 'boiling hot' run through the early summer months.

If we saw this list of teams last year we might say that only one top team was attending. However fast forward 12 months and two legitimately strong French teams are in attendance, with a major finalist in Ence. The two teams that have been the biggest disappointment since Katowice were two quarter-finalists; MIBR and Renegades. Since that tournament, where both exceeded expectations, they have achieved next to nothing. Part of that is due to roster and visa issues, and part due to poor play and stale strategy.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

IEM Chicago guests: get ready for a full weekend of cheering, excitement, and of course, incredible Counter-Strike. 😎 Gear up with the event guide for all the latest happenings before walking into @UnitedCenter: https://t.co/W3lBWiUmzD pic.twitter.com/YMLElgxPoH
— Intel®ExtremeMasters (@IEM) 16 de julho de 2019
\n"}[/]

The two teams that I have got involved with on outrights are G2 and Ence. Most recently at the EPL Finals we saw the French squad put up a strong fight against Team Liquid in a best-of-five. Yes they lost 3-1, but you could argue that Liquid stole two of those in overtime. While TL is undoubtedly the most complete, in-form, roster at the moment and justified outright heavy weight, Vitality has been overvalued here. If they play both Ence and/or G2 I would personally price both dogs around 2.0 – 2.2 [though we are likely to see something around 2.5]. These are also both squads with decent map pools. I previously would not have said this about G2, however it was clear from the past month or so they've put work into Train, Nuke and Inferno so they don't have to be quite so reliant on Dust2. You might call Ence's last two tournament's disappointing, but they were also eliminated by Vitality and Liquid in third map deciders. So I am not quite ready to package them up as having fallen off.

Outrights

To Win Group

Ence to win group at 3.40 (12/5) with Bet365

G2 to win group at 5.50 (9/2) with Bet365

To Reach Finals

Ence to reach final at 3.69 (269/100) with Pinnacle

G2 to reach final at 4.33 (333/100) with Bet365
