Grand Slam of darts – 9th-17th November 2019

Dave Chisnall v Jamie Hughes

9th November, 2.45pm

Dave Chisnall is in really good form and playing some of the best darts of his career. This tournament offers Chisnall the chance to go deep in the tournament and gain even more confidence ahead of the world championships in December. I would expect him to be shorter odds than the market has now, so I believe he is a good bet to win this.

His opponent Jamie Hughes is a smart darts player, but not in the same class as Chisnall, so he will compete, but Chisnall’s class will tell in this first group match. We’re putting up a handicap win for Chisnall at odds against.

Top Tip: Dave Chisnall (-1.5 legs) to beat Jamie Hughes at 2.1 (11/10) with Betfair

Adrian Lewis v Ross Smith

9th November 2019, 11.15pm

Experienced Adrian Lewis isn’t in top form and hasn’t been playing at the level that he was a few years ago. He has had a few issues this year which has seen his ranking drop. However, Adrian Lewis will be looking at World Championships in December and know that he needs to fine form in the lead up to the biggest tournament this year.

Therefore expect Adrian to put in a solid performance this week and he can start the week with a victory over Ross Smith. Smith isn’t a top player and will need to play at a very good level to compete with Lewis.

At odds of just odds on, it’s Lewis all the way in this match up.

Top Tip: Adrian Lewis to beat Ross Smith at 1.83 (5/6 ) with Coral

Grand Slam of darts Saturday acca

9th November 2019

Our third pick from Saturday’s darts is to put up an ‘Acca’ from the best of the first set of group matches. First up is Peter Wright to beat Wayne Warren. The inform Wright should comfortably beat Warren in this match up. Next up is Gary Anderson to beat Dave Parletti. Like Peter Wright, experience will count here as Anderson will show his class. The final pick is James Wade to overcome Wesley Harms.

Wright, Anderson and Wade all experienced players who will have their minds firmly set on the world championships in December and know they need to hit good form ahead of this event, so as they’re up against players from outside the ‘Top 16’ they can all progress and win their opening matches.

Top Tip: Peter Wright, Gary Anderson & James Wade all to win their matches at 2.6 (8/5) with Betfair
