Wright to progress while Price and van Gerwen expected to deliver a classic

Peter Wright v Glen Durrant

17th November, Afternoon

Peer Wright has been untroubled so far this tournament and has performed very well. Wright topped his group well and then beat Rob Cross and Dave Chisnall on his way to the semi-finals. Rob Cross and Dave Chisnall are top players, but Wright is playing at the top of his game and won both matches relatively easily.

Wright is scoring very well and registered ten 180’s in the quarter finals and in doing so gave himself more chances at doubles to win the leg, which he did more often than not. The reason Wright is in the semi-finals is due to a very good check out % and with 46% in his quarter final, Wright will fancy his chances of not only getting through to the final but to win the tournament.

His opponent in the semi-final Glen Durrant stunned Michael Smith in the quarter final to reach the semi-final, which was more of a shock given he narrowly beat Clemens in the last 16.

Durrant recorded a 55% check out % which was the difference against Michael Smith and he will need to be sharp with his doubles to have any chance of beating Peter Wright.

Wright delivered a 10 x 180’s in his quarterfinal compared to 4 x 180’s for Durrant, so with odds against Wright to score more 180s, which is our top pick.

Top Tip

Peter Wright to have the most 180’s in the match at 2.5 (6/4) with Bet365

Peter Wright (-1.5 Legs) to beat Glen Durrant at 1.83 (5/6) with Bet365

Gerwen Price v Michael van Gerwen

15th November 2019, Afternoon

Gerwen Price led from the front and beat Gary Anderson in the quarter finals. Price is looking to defend his grand slam of darts and will fancy his chances as he is playing really well.

Price went 5-0 up in the quarter finals against Anderson and never looked back. His all round game is giving him a great chance of qualifying for the final. With a check out of 42% in the quarterfinals, this level of performance will take price very close to victory.

In the previous round Price beat Webster 10-1 and with high scoring and good check outs you can see price is determined to give his all to defend his title and he is one step closer from doing that.

Standing in his way in the semi-finals is world number 1 Michael van Gerwen. This match up has the makings of an absolute classic.

Michael van Gerwen will be relishing the chance to win this tournament and is playing well enough to do so. His high scoring and finishing is a match for anyone.

This game can go all the way so our best bet in this match is over 27.5 legs at 2/1 (11/10) with Betfair. There could well be fireworks and plenty of high scoring as both players are in great form

Top Tip: Over 27.5 total legs in the match at 2.1 (11/10) with Betfair
