Top tipping on semi-finals as van Gerwen retains Premier League title.

So it was Michael van Gerwen who successfully defended his Premier League of darts crown last week. At the start of the campaign van Gerwen was 1/2 (1.5) to win the tournament and this price pretty much stayed the same all the way to the end.

The Finals night at London’s O2 arena went pretty much as we predicted as we successfully tipped two out of three winning picks and on SportsBetDaily show, we predicted the overall outcome of the tournament.

The first semi-final of Premier League of darts saw Michael van Gerwen take on Daryl Gurney and in our preview, we said “He (Gurney) has nothing to lose and we feel Gurney can keep the match close. The top tip is Gurney +3.5 legs at 11/10 (2.10).”

The outcome was spot on as we tipped, as Gurney stayed close throughout the first 12 legs and he was level with van Gerwen at 6-6 before van Gerwen won the next three legs. Gurney made our tip a winner as he won the next leg, but it was van Gerwen who came out on top to win 10-7 in legs.

The second Premier League of darts semi-final featured Rob Cross against James Wade. Cross, who was superb throughout the regular season lost to Wade in the final week of the Premier League season before the semi-finals. Cross didn’t let this bother him as he performed superbly to win the semi-final comfortably against Wade whose performance wasn’t as good as it had been.

Our tip of over 16.5 legs didn’t come off as Cross won 10-5 in legs, however our alternative bet of Cross to win, have the highest check out and most 180’s in the match at 5/2 (3.5) Ladbrokes did win to give all the readers a nice return to finish of the Premier League of darts season.

Without knowing the finalists we couldn’t tip the final, however on the preview show on Sportsbetdaily, we gave our view on who would proceed from the semi-finals and who would come out on top in the Final of which all seelctions were correct.

It’s been a pleasure to cover the Premier League of darts for Oddsmarket this year. We have been consistent with winning tips week in week out, and to have a strong finish with 2 out of 3 winning picks last week, we are happy with our performance.

The next big tournament in darts is the World Cup between 6th-9th of June. We will therefore be back next week with a look at this event and a couple of tips for you.
