England make their point with a win over Argentina

England v Argentina

Saturday 5th October 2019

England have played two of the weaker nations in the world cup so far and have done absolutely nothing wrong with their performances. 35-3 win over Tonga was followed by a 45-7 win over USA. England have shown huge improvement in their defensive play which will hold them in good stead as they face an Argentina team who are a lot stronger than England’s first two opponents.

Argentina were so close to beating France, however they had to come back from a big first half deficit and if they give England this lead, I suspect England will not let Argentina back in the game and then deliver a comfortable victory. This will be a very tough game for England, however England are showing great strength in not giving away silly penalties. Our top for this match is England to win between 11-20 points given the momentum England currently have and with such an experience manager in Eddie Jones, he knows the important of growing in tournaments.

Tip: England to win between 11-20 points on winning margin over Argentina at 3.6 (13/5) with Ladbrokes

Japan v Samoa

Saturday 5th October 2019

Japan caused a huge shock in this seasons tournament by beating Ireland with a fantastic 2nd half come back to beat pool favourites Ireland. Japan thoroughly deserved their win with a superb display and a very high tempo performance. Their backs were outstanding pushing Ireland back at every opportunity and the home support helped them over the line. Japan now face Samoa who were well beaten against Scotland. Japan are riding on a crest of a wave and with the handicap spread of 18 points, Japan can get off to a flying start and then cover this handicap spread.

Following their two wins so far Japan will have no fear to make it three wins in a row and having the temperature in their favour, this could be Samoa’s downfall as the hosts deliver another top performance and win well.

Tip: Japan (-18points) on the handicap spread market to beat Samoa at 1.91 (10/11) with Bet365

France v Tonga

Sunday 5th October 2019

Tonga were well beaten in their opening pool match 35-3 by England and will look to improve as they play France. The French are scoring well with 23 points against Argentina and then 33 points against USA. They are playing with plenty of flair and this can easily cut open the Tonga defence who may not be able to cope with this. Should France be able to not give away penalties and concentrate for the full 80 minutes, then they can cover the handicap of 25 points against Tonga. France will be looking at this match as one they can score 4 tries and achieve a bonus point and then once ahead, they can push for a bigger winning margin. They were given a scare against Argentina and this learning curve will enable them to win well in this match.

Tip: France (-25points) to beat Tonga on handicap spread at 1.91 (10/11) with Bet365
