England to kick-off their Rugby World Cup campaign with a bang

England v Tonga

Sunday 22nd September 2019

England begin their world cup campaign with a very winnable match on paper against rugby minnows Tonga. Tonga were on the end of a world cup warm up hiding from New Zealand who won 92-7. England will want to start the tournament well with a flurry of tries as they look to stamp their mark on their pool group. In Jonny May, Ben Youngs and Owen Farrell they have a trio of fantastic backs who can cut open opposition for fun and this match up can be the perfect start for England to do just that. Expectation is for a strong performance in this opening match for England and they can deliver.

Tip:

England (-39pts AH) to beat Tonga at 1.91 (10/11) with William Hill

Ireland v Scotland

Sunday 22nd September

Ireland are fancied to land spot in pool A and face a fellow northern hemisphere and well known opponent in Scotland in their first match. In their final warm up match they disposed of Wales 19-10 at home which was a perfect send off as they travelled to Japan. Scotland played home and away against European minnows Georgia winning 44-10 and 36-9, but facing a strong Ireland team will be a different prospect.

Captain and veteran player Rory Best will lead the Irish contingent in Japan and they can begin their campaign with a win over Scotland. Our top is for Ireland to win between 1-12 points in the selection of winning margin markets at Betfair.

Both these nations will go toe to toe in the opening match and don’t see Ireland running away with victory as Scotland can keep the match close, But Ireland’s extra experience and talent will come out on top.

Tip

Ireland to beat Scotland by 1-12 Points in winning margin market at 2.88 (15/8) with Betfair

Wales v Georgia

Monday 23rd September 201

Wales struggled in some of their world cup warm up matches with two defeats to Ireland and a win and loss against England. These were all competitive matches so will leave Wales feeling well prepared as they face European minnows Georgia in their opening pool match.

Looking at Georgia’s warm up matches can give us a good basis to recommend a tip for this match. The Georgians lost to Scotland 44-10 and 36-9, so by a margin of 34 & 27 respectively.

With Wales a stronger opposition than Scotland, we’re putting up Wales to cover the handicap spread of 27 points in this match. The six nation’s champions can get off to a flier in the world cup and make a statement of intent with a very convincing win.

Tip

Wales (-27pts AH) to beat Georgia at 1.95 (19/20) with Unibet
