Ireland to breeze past Japan and impress again

Argentina v Tonga

Saturday 28th September 2019

Argentina came so close to causing an upset in their opening match against France after coming back from a first half deficit to lose 23-21. They can take huge heart from this performance and will be raring to go against Tonga as they look to get a win under their belt. Even though Argentina haven’t won in their last 5 matches, they have played some tough matches in the warm up to the world cup including a narrow defeat to both New Zealand and Australia. That said the handicap spread of +29 is a little too much for them to win by given the toughest of matches last time out against France. Tonga are one of the minnows in the tournament and will lose the match, however, they can keep this within the handicap on offer.

Tip:

Tonga (+29pts) to beat Argentina on handicap spread at 1.91 (10/11) with William Hill

Japan v Ireland

Saturday 28th September, 2019

Ireland impressed in their opening match against Scotland with a convincing 27-3 win. Not only were Ireland superb in defence limiting Scotland to only one penalty, but offensively they scored four tries and dominated the match. Next up is Japan and another victory for Ireland, but the host nation will cause the Irish a few problems with the home crowd behind them. Japan beat one of the poorest nations at this year’s tournament in Russia in their opening match 30-10, but Ireland will be a totally different kind of opposition this time out. With Rory Best leading the Irish and Ryan and Furlong full of confidence after their tries in the opening match, Ireland can win this match between 21-30 points.

Tip:

Ireland to beat Japan on winning margin between 21-30 points at 4.33 (10/3) with Betfair

Scotland v Samoa

Sunday 29th September

Scotland disappointed in their opening pool match and will be looking to bounce back with a convincing victory over the tough Samoans. However Samoa will be full of confidence after their 34-9 win over Russia. Although one of the weakest nations in this tournament, Samoa went about their business scoring 6 tries and playing some great Rugby.

This match should be a lot closer than the odds and market suggests and being given 17 points on the handicap, there is belief that Samoa can cover this. In a pre-world cup match Samoa lost by 19 points to Australia and the Wallabies are in a different league to Scotland so this backs up our view that 17 point handicap is something Samoa can cover against.

Tip:

Samoa (+17pts) on handicap to beat Scotland at 1.91 (10/11) with Bet365
