Fight night 146 is just around the corner; let’s take a look at this week’s underdogs and the odds available.

The Dogs Odds

Tim Means (1.50 –1/2 @ Bet365) vs. Niko Price (2.63 – 163/100 @ Bet365)

With an opening price of 2.45 the public have sided with the book maker as we see money continuing to come in Tim Means. I do think there might be a turn around it this line before the weekend arrives with both fighter’s having a similar striking style, one would think Niko Price might be the younger more eager fighter in this matchup.

There are a huge amount of underdog’s on this card who could possibly cash this weekend, but this is only due to the majority of lines being awfully close in price. The bookmaker just like punters alike are struggling to find serious favourites at UFC Fight Night Wichita but I do think we might be overlooking Niko Price in this spot due to his two previous back to back losses.

Tim Means is the older fighter at age 35 here with plenty of KO’s on his resume which Niko will need to try an avoid considering his chin has been put to the test in previous fights. Looking at Tim’s notable wins doesn’t give us five star feedback, in fact a lot of Tim’s victories have come against fighter’s who aren’t even on the UFC roster anymore. He is definitely susceptible to the takedown and if Niko is smart here that might be the favoured game plan against an opponent like Tim Means.

Means is certainly the more seasoned and experienced fighter but I’m thinking Niko can bounce back in this spot and impress us like he did against another veteran in Alan Jouban. Tim Means has been knocked out once in his career and that was way back in 2004 so it might be a slight leap in judgement thinking Niko can get the knockout here but taking a stab on the submission prop wouldn’t be the worst idea. No disrespect to Tim by any means (you like that?) but I think there will come a point where the journeyman in Tim Means much like his veteran peers will be a fighter we start to fade.

I’ll be starting my Tim Means fade process this weekend and think Niko will have taken a lot experience factors from his previous loss by knockout.

Alex White (1.57 – 57/100 @ William Hill) vs. Dan Morat (2.38 – 69/50 @ William Hill)

First fight of the night kicking off the fight pass prelims on Saturday see’s Alex White come in as a sizeable underdog. I think Dan should take this fight to the ground and cease the advantage in this area. Alex White is definitely the more powerful striker in this spot, after the Jim Miller loss I can’t see why this fight wouldn’t be pick em odds.

Dan has a good chance to lock in a submission and finish Alex here if he can avoid those power strikes, and even though we saw Dan get knocked out by Gilbert Burns I feel that he can match Alex in striking technique. Alex White is 3-5 since debuting in the UFC and hasn’t been as impressive like his peers in the lightweight division, Morat is still quite fresh in the UFC and I think in this spot at this price it might be worth taking Morat as the winner.

I think my strategy for this week’s card will be more conservative than in past events, a few half units (0.5u) on the underdog’s I like the look of.

Zaleski Dos Santos (1.91 – 91/100 @ William Hill) vs. Curtis Millender (1.91 – 91/100 @ William Hill)

Welterweight fighter’s Zaleski Dos Santos and Curtis Millender face of in a cliché UFC prospect fight. We see fighter’s go on a win streak and then the UFC will match these fighter’s up to eliminate one of those win streaks then boom… a new star is potentially born.

Since his debut loss in the UFC Dos Santos has been on a tear racking up a nice 6 fight win streak since 2016, his opposition Curtis Millender has been on an even bigger win streak with a 9 fight win streak but only 3 of those bouts taking place in the UFC.

Millender opened up as a 2.00 - 1/1 underdog but now the line has moved to its rightful place as a pick em. I see value in the underdog here believing Curtis can match or maybe even out strike Dos Santos on the feet if he can utilize his size advantage. Either way, this fight should be fireworks and a possible fight of the night candidate.

I see Curtis being the more technically sound fighter on the feet matching Dos Santos by picking his punches and countering well, most probably a win here by decision.

If you would like to check up on any underdogs or odds not mentioned in this article then visit our fighting page.

For some of the best odds available at UFC235 visit William Hill.

David’s official plays for this weekend’s UFC event are available HERE.
