Let’s try and formulate a tasty looking parlay for this weekend’s UFC 235 PPV in Las Vegas.

Jeremy Stephens vs Zabit Magomedsharipov

The perineal gatekeeper of the UFC featherweight division Jeremy Stephens goes up against up and coming prospect and fan favourite Zabit Magomedsharipov, and no I don’t enjoy typing that name out so we’ll just stick with Zabit. I think Jeremy has held himself very well as a UFC professional and has the heart to duke it out with anyone in this division but Zabit has looked like he should be in the top #10 rankings since his debut and I expect a clear decision victory here for Zabit or even a possibility of a finish.

Jeremy has the power to put your lights out but with his style of striking his body gets left open and just like we saw in his previous fight with Jose Aldo, those type of openings are going to bite you in the butt. Jose finished Stephens with a beautiful shot to the body and became the second person ever to finish Jeremy via TKO.

Fighting a guy with such precise striking alongside the huge advantage in the height and reach department, I’m fully on the Zabit train here and think he will show everybody why he’s being talked about. Zabit has had four fights in the UFC and finished all of those bar one via submission x 2 and a TKO victory. Although not the easiest guy to finish inside three rounds, I do believe Zabit has the tools and stylistically a worse matchup for Jeremy than Jose Aldo was.

With Jeremy Stephens in his way, Zabit will be looking to put on the performance of his life whilst for Jeremy it’s just another day in the office. The hunger, success and potential main event fight opportunity Zabit would be awarded from this victory will be sure to give him that confidence boost he needs to get the job done in Vegas on Saturday.

Pretty accurate reading here from the bookmaker giving us Zabit at 1.44 – 4/9 with Betway, The first leg of our parlay/accumulator will be Zabit to win.

(Zabit)

Tecia Torres vs Weili Zhang

Since her debut for the UFC Weili has looked like the complete opposite of a newbie. Showing no signs of jitters or bright light nerves, Welli has dominated both of her fights in dominating fashion. A huge leap in competition she’s coming up against another gatekeeper but this time in the women’s straw weight division. Tecia has fought the who’s who of world class fighter and certainly knows how to grind out a victory by decision, with her 3 losses all going to the scorecards Tecia has yet to be finished in the octagon.

This is certainly a huge step up in competition for Zhang but I do see her being a future contender for the title and what’s a better way to do it than defeating two UFC household name’s back to back in Jessica Aguilar and Tecia Torres.

In her previous bout Zhang made the UFC veteran Jessica Aguilar look like the newcomer, defeating her quickly within the first round via submission. Tecia might give Zhang slightly more power and aggression to deal with but I think in this spot her gritty decision fighting gets put to bed.

With a finish from Zhang in this fight she would certainly be propelled close too title contention considering Tecia has managed to go the distance against the straw weight’s elite Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Jessica Andrade & Rose Namajunas. In her 19 professional fights Zhang has gone the distance just three times, let’s see if she can keep that trend going this weekend.

Weili Zhang at 1.49 – 4/5 with Betway will be the final piece of this week’s parlay/accumulator.

(Weili Zhang)

‘The Dogs and Their Odds’ UFC 235: Jones vs Smith

Punching Parlay

* Zabit at 1.44 – 4/9 with Betway

* Weili Zhang at 1.49 – 4/5 with Betway

Odds: 2.60 – 159/100 with Betway

Stake: £50 / 0.5u / Half Unit

Returns: £130

Profit: £80.00

Current Parlay Bank: £204.13

When is UFC Fight Night 145? Saturday 2nd March, 2019 - 11:30pm start (UK)

Where is UFC Fight Night 145? T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas

What channel is UFC Fight Night 145 on? UFC Fight Pass & BT Sport For viewers in the United States ESPN+

For Davids full betting card handicapped each and every week, visit
