As usual the last-chance qualifier presents the up-and-comers of professional Dota a scenic route to earn a spot at the final major of the DPC calendar!

The PPD-led Ninjas in Pyjamas have proven again and again on this year's circuit that they are consistently the best team outside the top five or six. They are the only team attending this week's lan that have already secured their spot to TI. On a good day they could make every team at the Starladder Minor look a class below. However I also believe this is a good tournament for a letdown for the Ninjas. A new patch was released the week before the ESL Birmingham LAN. It was clear by the vetoes that the significant changes would take some getting used to.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Welcome the talent lineup for StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor!#dota2 #sldota2 #KievMinor

Our team of talents has already come together to work for you on the broadcast from June 12th to 16th.

Details: ;/a> ;/a>
— StarLadder Dota 2 (@dotasltv) June 7, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

So I will be avoiding Nip for the futures markets here, though the price on them is not too bad. Alliance is my first selection. They attended the Birmingham tournament last week and had some excellent matches in an absolutely stacked group. Ironically their two wins came in an amazing fashion against PSG.LGD. Their performance was actually rather impressive pushing Secret and EG to some great games. Alliance and Nip have had quite the rivalry in 2019 with Ppd's squad taking 11/15 games. However outside of their European counter-parts, Alliance bring some real threat (based on their steady climb in the rankings and performance last week).

The other team is somewhat a longshot, Winstrike. I was thoroughly impressed with their performance at the recent qualifiers. Their stats were some of the best in comparison to all regions. An upset against Navi (a team that has recently been pushing the kings of CIS Dota, Virtus Pro to the limit) is nothing to ignore. They have some excellent experienced pieces on their team that have played at the highest level of international Dota, and not so long ago either. With this tournament being the last chance to earn direct TI invites, AND both the Minor and Major being in this squad's backyard (Kiev and Moscow) I think there is more value on this rather unknown team.

The only other teams that deserve a mention, but I won't be taking on the outrights, is Mineski and Ehome. At times they have both looked incredibly dangerous on the 2019 circuit. That said it's their inconsistency that leads me to avoid placing anything on them this week. However I am never one to be stubborn as a tournament progresses and if they look better than their price will look to play them.

Bets:

To Reach Final

-Alliance @ 3.00 [Bet365]

-Winstrike @ 4.50 [Bet365]

To Win Outright

-Alliance @ 6.00 [Bet365]

-Winstrike @ 15.00 [Unibet]
